Decagon is seeking a founding Strategic Account Manager to shape customer relationships and drive revenue. This role involves account and project management, ideal for those passionate about AI. You will manage the entire customer lifecycle post-sale, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results. Responsibilities include building strong customer partnerships, acting as a strategic advisor, guiding customers through deployment, and becoming an expert in product features and AI industry best practices. You will also communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and identify new projects to support customers. The role requires 4+ years of customer-facing experience in B2B SaaS account management or customer success, with proven success managing large customers and complex projects.

About the Role:

As our founding Strategic Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping customer relationships, driving revenue, and integrating customer insights. This role combines aspects of account management and project management, making it ideal for those excited about solving new problems in the AI space. If you’re a sales-driven Account Manager looking for an extremely fast-paced environment, this is the right role for you.

You’ll own every facet of the customer lifecycle post-sale while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results. This role requires both relationship management and tactical execution, perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role is in-person 5 days/week in our San Francisco office.

Responsibilities:

  • Build meaningful and long-lasting partnerships with our customers, and act as your customers' strategic advisor

  • Co-pilot with your customers throughout their deployment journey, from early stages of project scoping all the way to full adoption and value realization

  • Continuously learn and upskill your expertise in our product features and functionality, as well as wider AI industry context to become an expert in best practices

  • Expertly communicate with customer stakeholders, from individual contributors all the way to C-level executives

  • Identify and support new projects and initiatives to best support our team and customers

You may be a good fit if you have:

  • 4+ years of customer facing experience in an Account Management or Customer Success role in B2B SaaS 

  • Proven experience managing large customers and driving highly visible projects involving multiple stakeholders

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for non-technical audiences

  • Strong interpersonal, persuasion and teamwork skills

  • Business understanding of GTM sales teams and processes

Even better if you:

  • Are familiar with Agentic AI tool deployments in large organizations

  • Have working knowledge of Customer Support processes, systems, and best practices

  • Have experience in a high-growth startup environment
