eBay is seeking a Buyer Strategic Insights Analyst for its Collectibles Business Unit. This role will focus on delivering data-driven insights to drive growth, enhance buyer and seller journeys, and improve customer experience within the collectibles segment. The analyst will work closely with internal and external partners to understand market trends, solve problems efficiently, and build a strong understanding of the business landscape. The ideal candidate is customer-obsessed, strategic, analytical, collaborative, and a resourceful innovator with a passion for collectibles. Responsibilities include providing insights for strategic decisions, enhancing business comprehension, and enabling faster issue resolution. The role requires strong communication, presentation, analytical, and project management skills.

The Collectibles Business Unit is a specialized team where passion for unique and rare items meets e-commerce innovation. Our team is dedicated to creating a thriving online marketplace for a wide array of collectibles. Our mission is to be the most trusted destination for Collectors of Trading Cards, Sports Memorabilia, Coins, Comics, Toys, and more. We focus on delivering exceptional service to collectors and sellers alike, ensuring authenticity, and driving a seamless transaction process. We use data-driven insights to guide our strategies, aiming to continuously expand our reach and enhance user engagement. The Buyer Strategic Insights Analyst, Collectibles will deliver insight projects that contribute to growing and strengthen eBay's position as the top destination for buyers and sellers worldwide. You will be at the forefront of evolving the buyer and seller journey, improving the customer experience, and driving long-term growth for the Collectibles segment. You will work closely with internal and external partners, reporting to the Head of Buyer Strategic Insights.

 

This role requires someone who is customer obsessed and able to dive deep to undercover relevant, actionable insights and communicate those insights effectively to drive customer and business impact. Further, the Collectibles category is constantly evolving and having a strong personal connection to any collectible category will be helpful.

Required qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience: Analytics, strategy & operations, management consulting, product management, or similar in e-commercial, retail, consumer goods, or consumer tech.

  • BA/BS degree, or equivalent.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills + high-level proficiency in related tools: Google Slides and/or MS Powerpoint.

  • Excellent analytical skills, experience pulling data/gathering insights, and high-level proficiency in related tools: Google Sheets and/or MS Excel.

  • Excellent program/project management skills and high-level proficiency in related tools: MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.

  • Travel to industry events, external partners, and eBay offices as-needed (4+ times/year).

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA or similar graduate degree.

  • 2-sided marketplace experience.

  • Industry experience in or personal passion for Collectibles (Trading Cards, Coins, Comics, Toys).

  • Proficiency in SQL coding and demonstrated expertise with Data Warehouse pulls.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
