The Team Lead will head the newly established ESG Data Quality team within the Sustainable Investment Data Ops function in Bangalore. This role involves managing and developing a team of analysts to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of ESG data for FTSE Sustainable Investment Indices. Responsibilities include leading the team, ensuring adherence to data quality procedures, coordinating ESG data validation, and acting as the main point of contact for data quality issues. The role requires collaboration with global partners, data vendors, and internal tech teams. The selected candidate will be at the forefront of ESG data management.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and people-focused Team Lead to head our newly established ESG Data Quality team within the Sustainable Investment Data Ops function in Bangalore. This is a pivotal role responsible for managing and developing a growing team of analysts dedicated to ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of ESG data across a range of FTSE Sustainable Investment Indices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of ESG Data Quality Analysts, providing day-to-day oversight, mentoring, and support.
  • Ensure the team adheres to strict data quality procedures and delivers high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Coordinate the validation and review of ESG datasets, working with both proprietary and third-party data sources.
  • Build a strong team culture focused on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as the main point of contact for ESG data quality issues and coordinate resolution with global partners and data vendors.
  • Collaborate with the product team, data vendors, and internal tech teams to support product development and system enhancements.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience of working with ESG/Sustainable Investment data, with a strong understanding of ESG principles and industry standards.
  • Proven experience leading a team, preferably in a data quality, analytics, or operations environment
  • Strong people management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empower, coach, and develop talent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills; comfortable balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with global partners and clearly articulate data issues
