Job Description
The Systems Engineer (PROGRESS DBA) will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Progress Databases. They will monitor database performance, optimizing for efficiency and scalability by tuning queries, indexes, and other parameters. The role involves planning and implementing database backup and recovery solutions for disaster recovery. They will also provide tier 2/3 support, troubleshooting complex database issues, and require hands-on experience with SQL Database management tools, database clustering, replication, and failover technologies. Excellent problem-solving skills are crucial.
Must Have:
- PROGRESS DBA
- Progress 4GL, Openedge & SQL DBA
- Install and maintain Progress Databases
- Monitor database performance and optimize for efficiency
- Implement database backup strategies and recovery solutions
- Provide tier 2/3 support for database related issues
- Experience with SQL Database management tools
