Job Description

The Systems Requirements Testing Engineer independently plans and performs development, testing, and automation of systems-level software/hardware. Responsibilities include interpreting wireless specifications, applying SDKs, designing test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures, and training staff. The role involves documenting and reporting systems-level defects, troubleshooting program issues, and developing testing programs. This engineer will also participate actively in design reviews and project meetings, presenting findings to leadership and contributing significantly to project discussions.
Must have:
  • Plan and perform development, testing, and automation of systems-level software/hardware.
  • Interpret wireless specifications and apply Software vendor Development kits.
  • Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
  • Document systems-level defects using a bug tracking system and report to developers.
  • Identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and document problems with program function, output, or content.
  • Develop testing programs for new or modified systems.
  • Participate in design reviews and project meetings, presenting to executive leadership.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree field.

General Summary:

This individual independently plans, performs the moderately-defined responsibility for the development, testing, and automation; modifying of general systems-level software/hardware, specialized utility and/or hardware. Interprets wireless specifications and applies Software vendor Development kits. Designs test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures and trains supporting staff on the execution. Documents systems-level defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to developers. Identifies, analyzes, troubleshoots, and documents problems with program function, output, or content. Develops testing programs that assess effectiveness of a new system or modification of an existing system. Participates at design reviews, project meetings, and presents these to executive leadership. Acts as a strong contributor at design reviews and project meetings.

*Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report to Qualcomm’s office location(s) in San Diego, CA.*

Pay Range: $107,000.00 - $160,600.00/year
