The Tax Operations team works closely with our clients, agencies, and internal teams such as onboarding, customer care, and banking. Our primary focus is ensuring compliance with payroll tax filing and deposits for our clients.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

The Tax Specialist will be responsible for contributing to the day-to-day success of the Tax Operations team. This individual will be responsible for the completion of tasks related to maintaining client tax profiles and ensuring a smooth client experience.  In addition, the Tax Specialist will serve as a key contributor to larger team and organizational initiatives to drive improvement and efficiency as we continue to grow.

• Perform routine payroll tax profile audits of existing clients to ensure accuracy
• Processes payroll corrections for amendments, files amended returns,  and communicates summaries of the corrections to clients
• Knowledge of payroll taxes including federal, state, local and paid family leave
• Obtain accurate tax jurisdiction account information to ensure timely filing and payment of payroll tax obligations
• Maintain individual performance to meet established team goals and OKRs
• Perform routine payroll tax profile audits of existing clients to ensure accuracy
• Assists in monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings
• Collaborate with clients to complete Third-Party Agent (TPA) setup
• Participate in special projects and/or other duties assigned 

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred 
• 1+  years experience working in a similar role or closely related field
• Prior experience in a customer service role
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to adapt to change and varying job responsibilities
• Effectively manage time and self-start projects
• Comfortable working with sensitive/confidential information
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
