Job Description

Pixel Toys seeks a Technical Animator (contract) to collaborate with the animation team, developing cutting-edge features and processes. Responsibilities include rigging and skinning characters and props, enhancing existing tools, implementing in-engine animations, and contributing to tool creation using Python, MEL, or Qt. The ideal candidate possesses strong animation principles understanding, proficiency in Maya or MotionBuilder, familiarity with Perforce, and a deep understanding of anatomy and game development workflows. Excellent communication and self-management skills are essential, along with a passion for games. The role involves tackling challenging projects and contributing to the development of a new, innovative game.
Must Have:

The Role:

 

Join us as a Technical Animator and work closely with our Lead Animator and animation team, tackling challenges head-on and developing cutting-edge features, pipelines, and processes. You’ll handle rigging and skinning, enhance existing tools, implement animations in-engine, and contribute to tool creation and fixes.

 

 

 

About you:

 

You will be joining us with a strong understanding of animation principles, rigging, and animation systems. You’ll create high-quality character and prop rigs across various styles, improve our rigging pipeline, and develop animation tools and scripts using Python, MEL, or Qt.

 

With proficiency in 3D animation software like Maya or MotionBuilder you will also have familiarity with source control systems such as Perforce. Your understanding of anatomy, character topology best practices, and game development workflows will make you a great addition to the team; along with strong self-management, excellent communication skills, and of course a passion for games!
