As a Technical Program Manager at Google Cloud, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to define work problems and program goals, prioritizing deliverables, developing project plans, reviewing key metrics, and identifying corrective actions. You'll communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, drive impact toward mutual goals, and build dashboards. You'll need strong communication skills to present to executives and discuss technical tradeoffs with engineers. The role demands the ability to manage cross-functional projects, implement program management methodologies, and operate in a fast-paced environment. You'll be passionate about product innovation and comfortable challenging timelines and decisions.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years Technical Program Management experience
  • Cross-functional project management experience
  • Excellent communication & stakeholder management skills
  • Program planning & execution expertise
Good to have:
  • Experience with leading program management methodologies
  • Ability to create executive-level communications
  • Passion for driving product innovation

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in Technical Program Management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with Program Management, Technical Program Management, Communication, Stakeholder Management, Project Management, Project Planning, with the ability to own program communications with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead/contribute and implement leading practice program management methodologies and processes.
  • Ability to operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to represent and prepare executive level communication and articulate business or technical concepts to senior leadership.
  • Passion for driving product innovation and excellence, with the ability to challenge engineering timelines and product decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact.
  • Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders’ needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables, and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables.
  • Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, or manage project plans for supported programs.
  • Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.
  • Identify, communicate, and collaborate with stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals, and build, maintain, and enhance business, operational, and management dashboards.
