Job Description

Unity is seeking a Senior Product Designer to shape the future of Unity Asset Manager and its integration into the Unity Editor. This role focuses on designing seamless asset workflows, transformations, and cloud-powered automations that help creators manage and manipulate assets at scale. You’ll take on the challenge of making complex systems approachable and powerful for artists, developers, and studios worldwide. You will lead design for asset transformations, cloud automations, and Editor-integrated workflows, ensuring tools are powerful yet intuitive, translating complex requirements into simple, creator-friendly experiences.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with Unity editor-based tools, automation pipelines, or DAM systems.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (UI Toolkit, HTML, CSS, responsive design).
  • Familiarity with asset workflows in game development, 3D production, or VFX pipelines.
  • Understanding of AI-assisted design and content creation workflows.
Must Have:
  • Proven experience designing complex tools or platforms in industrial, game development, or creative software.
  • Portfolio highlighting excellence in interaction design, systems thinking, and workflow design.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across disciplines, balancing user needs with technical and business constraints.
  • Proficiency with design/prototyping tools (Figma) and agile project tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Ability to present work to stakeholders, gaining buy-in and alignment.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead design for asset transformations, cloud automations, and Editor-integrated workflows, ensuring tools are powerful yet intuitive.
  • Translate complex requirements like metadata handling, asset versioning, automation rules, and transformation pipelines into simple, creator-friendly experiences.
  • Partner with Product, Research, and Engineering to define opportunities and validate solutions through feedback and data.
  • Design, prototype, and iterate quickly, validating decisions with both creators and enterprise users.
  • Communicate design decisions clearly, influencing cross-functional stakeholders and building alignment.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience designing complex tools or platforms in the industrial, game development, or creative software spaces.
  • Portfolio that highlights excellence in interaction design, systems thinking, and workflow design for multi-step or automation-heavy environments.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across disciplines, balancing user needs with technical and business constraints.
  • Proficiency with design/prototyping tools (Figma, etc.) and fluency in working with agile project tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Ability to present work to stakeholders gaining buy in and alignment around your design vision leveraging compelling storytelling.

You might also have

  • Experience with Unity editor-based tools, automation pipelines, or DAM systems.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (UI Toolkit, HTML, CSS, responsive design) for effective collaboration with engineering.
  • Familiarity with asset workflows in game development, 3D production, or VFX pipelines.
  • Understanding of AI-assisted design and content creation workflows, and how they can enhance user experience or streamline production.
