Job Description

Unity Engine Support provides technical solutions to our customers’ hardest problems, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Unity, games development, and programming. This role involves tackling diverse technical issues with curiosity and flexibility, constantly learning about the latest Unity features, and helping nurture exciting games and simulations. You will be the first line of support for Unity developers, investigating, debugging, and solving problems, while also improving documentation.
Must have:
  • Provide first-line technical support for Unity developers via online ticketing system.
  • Investigate, research, profile, debug, and solve technical problems.
  • Interact and collaborate with customers and internal development engineers.
  • Improve, expand, and develop documentation, resource materials, and technical FAQs.
  • Experience in developing and publishing multiple projects built with Unity.
  • Excellent knowledge of C++ and C# programming.
  • Experience in debugging and profiling native apps on mobile or standalone devices.
  • Strong understanding of several specific Unity Engine features (e.g. DOTS, Unity Physics, Addressables...).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
Good to have:
  • Experience in developing and publishing projects built with other engines.
  • Experience in a customer facing role.
  • Knowledge of SCM software (Git, SVN, Mercurial, P4).
  • Knowledge of available external hosting platforms (e.g. Github, Bitbucket).

The opportunity

Unity Engine Support provides technical solutions to our customers’s hardest problems. Using our in-depth knowledge of Unity, games development, and many other aspects of technology and programming, we help Unity developers in all industries to ship their projects.

Our customers have a wide variety of problems, which require quick thinking as well as in-depth analysis. This is where you step in, working to tackle these problems with curiosity, flexibility and positivity. In return, you will be constantly learning about the latest features of Unity, and get to help nurture some of the most exciting games and simulations in development today!

This is a permanent position based in our Brighton office. Travel is not required but you will have opportunities to attend conferences and visit customers.

What you'll be doing

  • You are the first line of support for technical inquiries from Unity developers, tackling and prioritising issues via our online ticketing system
  • Investigate, research, profile, debug, and solve technical problems, interacting and collaborating with customers and internal development engineers as needed to do so
  • Improve, expand, and develop the documentation, resource materials, and technical FAQs
  • Engage in continual professional development through training, hackweeks and self-directed exploration of new Unity features.

What we're looking for

  • Experience in developing and publishing multiple projects built with Unity with excellent knowledge of C++ and C# programming
  • Experience in debugging and profiling native apps on mobile or standalone devices
  • Strong understanding of several specific Unity Engine features (e.g. DOTS, Unity Physics, Addressables...) in addition to a general understanding of many others, and willingness to learn new skills and areas of Unity
  • Passionate about fixing problems and solving technical issues
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with various groups of customers and internal teams

You might also have

  • Experience in developing and publishing projects built with other engines
  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • Knowledge of SCM software (Git, SVN, Mercurial, P4) and available external hosting platforms (e.g. Github, Bitbucket)
