This role includes supervisory responsibilities, providing leadership and mentoring to a team.
Must have:
  • 5 years of project management and bank operations experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to analyze unique issues and problem-solve collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of system security protocols and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of bank operations and core platform functions.
  • Ability to maintain attendance and work scheduled hours.
  • Work in office, independently, with minimal supervision.

  • Relevant PM Certification or education (PMP or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project or other project management tools.
  • Ability to interact with internal staff and external professionals.
  • Experience integrating third-party applications.

Job Details

Our client is seeking a VP, Banking System Administrator for a direct hire opportunity.  The Banking System Administrator manages the Bank’s core banking system and associated applications. The Banking System Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the core banking system to ensure smooth banking operations. This role involves overseeing system configurations, troubleshooting issues, and working closely with IT teams to enhance the system’s performance and security.  This role includes system implementation from requirement gathering, analysis, design, configuration and testing of various systems. Effective project management and communication skills are essential. The position requires formulating strategies and implementing processes that will streamline bank processes. This position requires that the individual work in office, independently, and with minimal supervision. Travel to branch offices may required. 

Ensures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Translate requests from business units and technical teams, from across the organization, into actionable project plans by gathering requirements and planning resources. 
  • Create and maintain project documentation with a systematic approach. 
  • Configure and customize the core banking system to meet the organization’s business requirements, regulatory needs and improve system user acceptance. 
  • Liaison with the Bank’s core vendor regarding opening new tickets for system changes, updates or validating system settings.
  • Create, modify, and manage user accounts, roles, and permissions within the core banking system and associated applications. 
  • Perform and document periodic audits to ensure the accuracy of user roles and ensure change management requirements are met. 
  • Communicate directly with the Bank’s auditors and examiners to provide system validation testing and security controls. 
  • Provide technical support for end-users, resolve system issues, and collaborate with vendors to resolve complex problems.
  • Work with external vendors and internal teams to integrate third-party applications and services with the core banking system.
  • Participate in core banking system upgrades, migrations, and new project implementation including thorough testing and validation.  
  • Troubleshoots system issues that may impact clients and works to identify and resolve the issues. 
  • Participate in Fiserv DNA training, Fiserv Community, and other opportunities to improve skills, keep abreast of best practices and changes to the platform and products.
  • Minimum of 10 hours CRA volunteer hours per year. Volunteer hours are typically scheduled within business hours. This is compensable time and mileage is reimbursed
  • Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities: This role will have supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities will include at least one incumbent and potentially a team of individuals. The Banking System Administrator will provide supervision, leadership and mentoring. 

Qualifications:
  • Relevant PM Certification or education (PMP or equivalent) preferred. 
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management and Bank Operations Experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or work experience equivalent with sufficient background in administering core banking systems and business management disciplines.
  • Ability to effectively analyze unique issues/problems without precedent and/or structure and problem solve collaboratively.
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of internal staff members and external professionals.
  • Knowledge of system security protocols and industry best practices.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of bank operations, core platform functions, proficiencies and integration.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project or other project management tools. 
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and work scheduled hours
