Job Description

Zelis is seeking a Data Security Engineer to join its Cybersecurity Engineering team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for protecting digital assets and sensitive data by designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security controls. You’ll collaborate with IT, DevOps, and data teams to integrate data protection practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This role demands strong cybersecurity expertise, hands-on experience with data security technologies, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risk.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Familiarity with tools such as Halcyon, Securiti.ai, and SentinelOne
  • Strong documentation and policy writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Must Have:
  • Lead investigations and response efforts for data-related security incidents
  • Design and enforce protections for data at rest, in transit, and in use—across on-prem and cloud environments
  • Manage and optimize key security technologies including DSPM, DLP, and Email Encryption tools
  • Automate security processes to increase efficiency and minimize manual errors
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to embed security into workflows and development pipelines
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of security controls, policies, and incident reports
  • Provide ongoing reporting and metrics to leadership regarding data security posture and improvements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • 3–5 years in data security, information security, or a related role
  • Hands-on experience with DSPM tools (e.g., Securiti.ai, Varonis, SentinelOne, Microsoft Purview)
  • Strong understanding of data lifecycle management and data protection principles
  • Proficiency with DLP, encryption, and data classification technologies
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
