Job Description

The Automation Business Analyst will enable high-quality business automation solutions within an Agile framework, delivering valuable business outcomes and informed decisions for Zelis stakeholders. This role is crucial for the Process team, facilitating communication between Business Owners, Scrum/Development, Production Support, and Product Owners, and enhancing Zelis' capacity to meet evolving automation market needs.
Good To Have:
  • Basic or advanced understanding of RPA, business process automation, and/or digital transformation.
  • Certified Path Business Analyst.
  • Project Management experience; ability to drive output from others.
  • Technology, healthcare, banking, or financial industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree.
Must Have:
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert and liaison between the teams; partner with one or more Product Owners on key initiatives and prioritization efforts.
  • Gather requirements/acceptance criteria for Robotic Process Automations (RPA) initiatives centered around the automation of business processes.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Provide documentation for system process updates and existing system functionality for reference by Business and Operations teams.
  • Partner with Product Management, Development, and Production Support to ensure requirements are realized properly upon release to production.
  • Assist in providing training to end users on newly released automations.
  • Recommend process, workflow, and efficiency improvements while keeping the team informed on upcoming product development improvements within our partner Business Units.
  • Foster and organize user requirements with appropriate stakeholders to track and manage process details accordingly.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of Business Analysis experience.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Office Suite, JIRA, Automation Hub, and Task Capture.

Position Overview

The Automation Business Analyst will be responsible for enabling high-quality business automation solutions in an Agile framework that delivers valued business outcomes and informed decisions for Zelis stakeholders.

The Automation Business Analyst is a core part of the Process team to facilitate clear and open communication between Business Owners, Scrum/Development, Production Support, and Product Owners. This role provides a major contribution to enhancing Zelis' overall capacity to meet the information technology needs of an ever-evolving automation market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert and liaison between the teams; partner with one or more Product Owners on key initiatives and prioritization efforts.
  • Gather requirements/acceptance criteria for Robotic Process Automations (RPA) initiatives centered around the automation of business processes.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Provide documentation for system process updates and existing system functionality for reference by Business and Operations teams.
  • Partner with Product Management, Development, and Production Support to ensure requirements are realized properly upon release to production.
  • Assist in providing training to end users on newly released automations.
  • Recommend process, workflow, and efficiency improvements while keeping the team informed on upcoming product development improvements within our partner Business Units.
  • Foster and organize user requirements with appropriate stakeholders to track and manage process details accordingly.
  • Ability to partner with one or more Product Owners on key initiatives and prioritization efforts.
  • Project Management experience; ability to drive output from others without direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Ability to see the big picture and learn new processes, technologies, and envision how they could benefit Zelis; prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of Business Analysis experience.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft Office Suite, JIRA, Automation Hub, and Task Capture.

Preferred Experience

  • Basic or advanced understanding of RPA, business process automation, and/or digital transformation.
  • Certified Path Business Analyst (nice to have).
  • Project Management experience; ability to drive output from others.
  • Technology, healthcare, banking, or financial industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree.
