SPE INTERN:

Our Emerging Talent Programs, which includes Interns, Trainees, and Finance Rotational Associates, offer unique opportunities for students, recent graduates, and emerging talent to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that builds on your experience and develops your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, and many educational and social networking opportunities.

This Fall Internship is from September through December 12th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 10-29 hours/week, in person in the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university interested in continuing their education through professional experience.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

Sony Pictures Releasing is the studio’s theatrical distribution group and is responsible for the release of feature films from Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Screen Gems, Sony Pictures Animation, Sony Pictures International Productions, and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions to cinemas around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate should have a strong interest in learning about the theatrical distribution business and have strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. The intern will work with the team in the area of sales and planning strategy, as well as provide analytic support to our global theatrical sales team. Responsibilities for the role include analyzing datasets from the division’s various database systems to develop market insights, monitoring global release dates and box office performance, and contributing to various research projects At the end of this rotation, the intern will have detailed knowledge of the film distribution business.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge and passion for film business
• Strong knowledge /experience with analytics and data
• Experience with Excel and database management
• Interest in international markets
• Flexible and able to prioritize and re-priortize within fluid situations
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and working under tight constraints
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail

The anticipated base salary for this position is $19/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
