Job Description

This Co-Op position in Consumer Science and Product Experience focuses on ensuring consumer-centricity in innovations. The role involves product testing, questionnaire development, data analysis, and report writing, as well as participating in focus groups and consumer interviews. You will gain expertise in sensory design, product storytelling, and presentation skills, contributing to the entire innovation lifecycle from ideation to post-launch optimization. This role supports flavor research and consumer sciences for brands like Robitussin, Tums, and Advil.

  • Familiarity with Compusense software and MS Office
Must Have:
  • Be involved in the design and execution of internal Employee studies, consumer trends focus groups, and trained panels.
  • Draft informed consent forms, test plans, discussion guides, screeners, and questionnaires.
  • Issue reports for the studies done following the Haleon guidelines.
  • Consolidate flavor trends – globally and regionally, general and category specific. Organize and present result.
  • Work closely with R&D team.
  • Review and summarize scientific manuscripts.
  • Support other team member in the logistics and execution of any consumer testing needs.
  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biochemistry or Biological science or Sensory, Food, Market Research Sciences.
  • Ability to come to Richmond VA offices at least three times per week or as needed.

The Consumer Science and Product Experience group ensures the consumer-centricity of specific innovations within a category and/or a region pipeline. As a co-op position you will help to carry out all aspects of product testing, such as writing questionnaires, supplying participants with study materials, data analysis, and report writing. You will also participate in focus groups, consumer interviews, and social listening exercises. The co-op position will gain expertise in sensory design, product storytelling, and presentation skills. The role touches the entire innovation lifecycle, from ideation to product launch, as well as product optimization post-launch.

What will your individual contribution be?

This position offers the unique opportunity to work on brands such as Robitussin, Tums and Advil, designing consumer centric products to meet our customer’s needs and wants. The position will support flavor research and consumer sciences basic needs. Some areas of support may include:

Education required:

  • Current enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biochemistry or Biological science or Sensory, Food, Market Research Sciences.

Other requirements:

  • Must plan on coming to our offices at least three times per week or as needed. Preferably basic statistical knowledge, and familiar with Compusense software and MS Office.
