Job Summary

IGG Canada is seeking an experienced 3D Animator for a mobile game project. The role involves developing high-quality real-time 3D game animations, including locomotion cycles and cinematic cutscenes, using Maya and Unity. Responsibilities also include character rigging with proprietary tools and creating 2D animations in Spine. The animator will collaborate with art, design, and programming teams, research new techniques, and contribute to a dynamic production pipeline. Candidates should have 4+ years of experience and a passion for mobile game development.

Must Have

  • Develop high-quality animations for real-time 3D game assets.
  • Collaborate in animation design process by defining references, brainstorming ideas, and validating concepts.
  • Produce visually compelling animations for in-game characters using the Unity engine.
  • Rig characters and other in-game assets utilizing proprietary studio tools.
  • Create simple 2D character animations in Spine for game assets.
  • 4+ years of professional character animation experience using Maya.
  • Proficient with auto-rigging tools and character rigging, with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated experience working in Unity, with at least one shipped game title.
  • Exceptional skills in 3D character animation for bipedal and humanoid figures, as well as other organic forms.
  • In-depth knowledge of gameplay animation technologies and production tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

  • Willingness and aptitude to learn 2D animation in Spine for in-game use.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new workflows and continuously improving production processes.

  • Less than 1 year of relevant experience: Initial 3-month contract
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience: Initial 1-year contract
  • More than 3 years of relevant experience: Permanent position

Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality animations for real-time 3D game assets, including short cycles, locomotion cycles, and cinematic cutscenes.
  • Collaborate in the animation design process by defining references, brainstorming ideas, and validating concepts.
  • Produce visually compelling animations for in-game characters using the Unity engine.
  • Rig characters and other in-game assets utilizing our proprietary studio tools.
  • Create simple 2D character animations in Spine for game assets.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and discussions, working closely with the Lead Animator and Creative Director.
  • Collaborate with art, design, and programming teams to enhance and refine the animation workflow.
  • Research and implement new animation techniques and best practices to improve our production pipeline.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the team.

Qualification:

  • 4+ years of professional character animation experience using Maya.
  • Proficient with auto-rigging tools and character rigging, with the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated experience working in Unity, with at least one shipped game title.
