Job Summary
RAPP New York is seeking an Account Director to lead client relationships in a digital-first, data-centric manner, particularly with automotive clients. This role involves managing multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring seamless integration across stakeholders, and overseeing financial aspects. The director will also guide a team of Dealer Marketing Consultants, foster integrated agency collaboration, and drive career development for junior staff, consistently delivering outstanding results through natural curiosity and pursuit of excellence.
Must Have
- Deep understanding of automotive business dynamics, strategies, and industry drivers.
- Liaison between multiple internal and external stakeholders for seamless integration.
- Accountability for agency performance and effective financial and commercial management.
- Adept navigation of Agency and client matrices.
- Management of complex, multi-channel campaigns across different stages of the funnel and customer journey.
- Management of initiatives or campaigns within the broader business context.
- Facilitation of project brief development in collaboration with strategic planners and analysts.
- Shepherding ideas from development to presentation to execution.
- Effective management of client expectations, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Field Team Management - providing guidance, training and upskilling to a team of six (6) Dealer Marketing Consultants.
- Leading an integrated agency model to ensure alignment and collaborative work.
- Steering internal and partner teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Fostering growth, inspiration, and career development plans for direct reports and junior staff.
- 8-10 years of account management experience, particularly with a focus on digital and CRM.
- Strong mid to senior-level client experience and ability to navigate complex client organizations.
- Proven track record of exceptional business leadership and team management/development.
- Experience working closely with Media (Traditional/Digital) agency partners and clients.
- Comfort with ambiguity, flexibility, and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Strong teamwork skills and adeptness in managing various personalities.
- Experience in communications planning and articulating strategic recommendations.
- Proven ability to autonomously manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
- Effective and proactive collaboration within a geographically dispersed team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to identify and nurture junior talent effectively.

- Automotive experience preferred, ideally with exposure to Tier 1 program activation and support.
- A concentration in National>Dealer marketing adaptation is a plus.

YOUR ROLE:

Serving as a trusted advisor and collaborative partner, they engage with automotive clients at senior managerial and marketing/category directorial levels. Their adeptness lies in managing multi-disciplinary projects for clients across various sectors, navigating seamlessly through agency matrices, cross-holding company partnerships, and external agency collaborations. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gaining a deep understanding of automotive business dynamics, strategies, and industry drivers across various channels.
- Serving as a liaison between multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration throughout the business, while monitoring, projecting, and offering innovative solutions to marketing challenges.
- Exhibiting accountability for agency performance and effectively managing financial and commercial aspects of the business.
- Navigating both the Agency and client matrices adeptly.
- Managing complex, multi-channel campaigns across different stages of the funnel and customer journey.
- Managing the intricacies of initiatives or campaigns within the broader business context.
- Facilitating the development of project briefs in collaboration with strategic planners and analysts.
- Shepherding ideas from development to presentation to execution, both for oneself and others.
- Managing client expectations, objectives, timelines, and budgets effectively.
- Field Team Management - providing guidance, training and upskilling to a team of six (6) Dealer Marketing Consultants taksed with dealer marketing planning and performance.
- Leading an integrated agency model to ensure alignment and collaborative work towards shared goals among agency teams.
- Steering internal and partner teams to deliver integrated solutions from strategy and concept to execution, while representing client interests adequately.
- Fostering growth, inspiration, and career development plans for direct reports and junior staff.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 8-10 years of account management experience is necessary, particularly with a focus on digital and CRM.
- Automotive industry experience, particularly from a marketing perspective, strongly preferred.
- Strong mid to senior-level client experience is essential, along with the ability to navigate complex client organizations effectively.
- A proven track record of exceptional business leadership and team management/development is required.
- Experience working closely with Media (Traditional/Digital) agency partners and clients to develop integrated media and CRM strategies and recommendations
- Comfort with ambiguity, both in client interactions and internal processes, is crucial. Demonstrating flexibility and creative problem-solving abilities is a must.
- Must exhibit strong teamwork skills, maintaining a friendly and cooperative demeanor.
- Should demonstrate adeptness in managing various personalities, both within the team and when interacting with clients.
- Experience in communications planning is essential, with a capability to articulate strategic recommendations effectively, including successful client engagements.

This range is specific to NYC and multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience and training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
