Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Account Executive to join our dynamic sales team, providing essential support to the Sales Manager throughout the pre-sale and post-sale processes. This role involves brainstorming innovative campaign ideas, building compelling proposals, and helping bring advertising partnerships to life. It's an excellent opportunity for individuals with agency or media planning experience to transition into a client-facing sales position, focusing on major key accounts within the Consumer vertical, including Technology, Automotive, and CPG.
Must have:
  • Collaborate with sales and creative strategy/branded and social teams to brainstorm concepts and create compelling proposals.
  • Build detailed media plans and proposals using Microsoft Excel, outlining campaign strategy, pricing, and expected deliverables.
  • Create compelling, visually engaging sales presentations and RFP pitch decks in PowerPoint.
  • Work with Business Intelligence team to conduct market and audience research using internal and third-party tools (e.g., Comscore, Google Analytics).
  • Provide comprehensive administrative and strategic support to the Sales Manager, including cold outreach, pipeline management, and updating Salesforce.
  • Manage a dedicated list of small-to-mid-size accounts, acting as the primary point of contact and fostering strong client and agency relationships.
  • Keep informed of the latest trends in digital advertising, gaming, entertainment, and evolving ad products/platforms.
  • 1-3 years of experience at a digital publisher, media agency, or in an assistant/media planning role.
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint and Excel, able to use data and research to build compelling narratives.
  • Resourceful, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in a support role within a sales or media agency environment.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Account Executive to join our dynamic sales team. You will be the essential support system for our Sales Manager, playing a critical role in the entire pre-sale and post-sale process. From brainstorming innovative campaign ideas to building compelling proposals, you are the engine that helps bring our advertising partnerships to life.

This inside sales role is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual with agency or media planning experience to grow into a client-facing sales position. You will have the opportunity to grow and work on major key accounts on our Consumer vertical (East Coast territory) including:

  • Technology
  • Automotive
  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)
  • Alcohol

  • Government & Federal Agencies
  • Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs)
  • Retail

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ideation & Strategy: Collaborate with the sales and creative strategy/branded and social teams to brainstorm concepts and create compelling proposals for existing and new advertising clients.
  • Proposal Development: Build detailed media plans and proposals using Microsoft Excel, outlining campaign strategy, pricing, and expected deliverables (CPMs, CPVs, etc.).
  • Presentation Building: Create compelling, visually engaging sales presentations and RFP (request for proposal) pitch decks in PowerPoint that clearly communicate our value proposition and campaign ideas.
  • Research & Insights: Work with our Business Intelligence team to conduct market and audience research using internal and third-party tools (e.g., Comscore, Google Analytics) to provide data-driven insights that support our proposals.
  • Sales Support: Provide comprehensive administrative and strategic support to the Sales Manager to streamline the sales process and help achieve revenue targets. This includes but is not limited to - cold outreach, managing pipeline, updating Salesforce, using SellerCrowd/ Winmo/ Linkedin.
  • Account Management: Manage a dedicated list of small-to-mid-size accounts, acting as the primary point of contact and fostering strong client and agency relationships to encourage repeat business.
  • Stay Informed: Keep your finger on the pulse of the latest trends in digital advertising, gaming, entertainment, and our evolving suite of ad products and platforms.

  • Experienced Media Professional: You have 1-3 years of experience at a digital publisher, media agency, or in an assistant/media planning role. You understand the language of advertising and the needs of clients.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in a support role within a sales or media agency environment.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel is a must. Photoshop is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Work Environment:

  • Work Schedule: Standard full-time working schedule, M-F. Due to the nature of this role, there is an expectation for this role to be comfortable with working outside of a standard schedule from time to time for client needs and events.
  • Travel Requirements: Domestic and international travel is required for this role, for attendance at client meetings, client entertainment, team meetings, and industry events.
  • Physical Requirements: This role involves typical office and computer-based activities, including prolonged periods of sitting or standing and frequent use of hands, fingers, and vision for tasks such as operating a computer, mouse, and keyboard. Occasional travel is required, which could include lifting and carrying materials, and navigating airports, hotels, and other venues.   • Work Model: This is a hybrid position, and will be required to work out of our New York office 3 times each week.

Salary Disclosure: Ziff Davis provides a range for the base pay. Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay may include your specific job related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,000 to $65,000, plus incentive compensation, 401K with company match, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, short and long-term disability, and a flexible time off policy.
