As an Acoustic Transducer Engineer, you will drive all aspects of transducer design and development, helping manufacturing partners scale production and testing. The role involves linear and non-linear computer simulation of electromagnetic, acoustics, and structural mechanics. You will optimize custom transducers and collaborate with multi-functional teams to deliver exceptional audio experiences for millions of customers worldwide.
Good To Have:
  • Experience with Speaker LPM and nonlinear parameters measurements systems like Klippel
Must Have:
  • Drive all aspects of transducer design and development
  • Help manufacturing partners scale production and testing
  • Perform linear and non-linear computer simulation of electromagnetic, acoustics and structural mechanics
  • Optimize each design aspect for custom transducers
  • Work with multi-functional teams (product design, mechanical engineering, audio tuning, audio integration, manufacturing, etc) to deliver great audio
  • Strong background in acoustic principles (sound propagation, wave behavior and resonators), vibration and electromechanical systems
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis software COMSOL (electromagnetic, structural mechanics and acoustics) for simulations and analysis
  • Working knowledge of lumped-parameter simulation methods and tools, as implemented in either equivalent circuit simulators or System Dynamics simulators (MATLAB and Simulink)
  • Experience with 3D solid modeling and meshing tools
  • Experience with transducer design and testing (from single suspension micro speaker design to professional speakers) and understanding of loudspeaker design methods (and tradeoffs such as power, dimensions and cost)
  • Experience with speaker components and materials, assembly techniques and process, failure analysis and integration into products through prototype to mass production builds
