Job Description

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach day, evening and/or online classes for the Department of Computer Science. Part-time faculty positions are created to provide an available applicant pool for the department. Positions will be filled on an as needed basis. Start dates will vary by course and semester. Qualified applicants will be contacted by the academic department. Your application will remain in the pool until the posting closes. If you wish to be considered for positions beyond that date, then you must reapply.

There is a potential need for both undergraduate and graduate courses to be taught on campus, off campus in a corporate setting or online. The goal is to integrate a successful applicant into related activities at WPI with teaching assignments matched with the background and availability of the applicant. We have specific interest in areas such as Foundations of Computer Science, Algorithms, Software Engineering and Object-Oriented Design, Interface Design and Artificial Intelligence. In addition, we have ongoing interest in introductory computer science courses where our current introductory courses emphasize program design using languages such as Racket/Scheme, Python, Java and C/C++.

An ideal applicant will hold an advanced degree in Computer Science or related discipline with significant practical experience in the relevant area, as well as having successful undergraduate or graduate teaching experience. Abilities to teach in other areas is also valued.
