Worcester Polytechnic Institute - WPI is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach in its Music Program. The role involves teaching a diverse range of music courses, including theory, history, audio arts, music technology, composition, arrangement, and performance. The faculty will participate in a vibrant music technology program and oversee various musical ensembles. Successful candidates must demonstrate teaching excellence and versatility, with the ability to integrate creative and critical pedagogical approaches into existing curricula. A doctorate in music is required. Positions are filled on a course-by-course basis as needed.
Must have:
  • Doctorate in music (PhD, DMA, DMus, etc.)

Part-time adjunct faculty pool in Music to fill opportunities on a course-by-course basis as need arises.

This posting may be used to apply for positions available in Music.

The Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is regularly seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach in its Music Program. The Music faculty participate in a vibrant music technology program and oversee a diverse assortment of choral groups; jazz, string, and brass ensembles; and concert and stage bands. In addition, faculty teach introductory courses, intermediate thematic surveys, advanced topic seminars, and capstone practicums in music theory and history, audio arts, music technology, as well as composition, arrangement, and performance.  

We are looking for outstanding artists/scholars, but successful candidates must also demonstrate teaching excellence and versatility as well as an ability to jump into an existing curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches. A successful candidate should hold a Doctorate in music (PhD, DMA, DMus, etc.).

Submitting an application through this part-time posting will place you in an applicant pool to fill Music adjunct faculty positions on an as needed basis. Specific topics and start dates will vary over the academic year.
