Victor is seeking an experienced Agricultural Development Underwriter to join their Underwriting team in Leeds, offering hybrid work. This role involves diverse underwriting activities and broker development, focusing on Farm Combined and Farm Motor products. The underwriter will execute company strategy, achieve financial goals, deliver exceptional customer service, and manage key agricultural broker accounts. The role requires cultivating strong in-person relationships with brokers and contributing to underwriting strategy and product improvements.
Must have:
  • Contribute to and implement underwriting strategy across all products.
  • Directly impact financial KPIs by balancing revenue growth with underwriting profitability.
  • Uphold Victor’s service standards on all authorized products, ensuring Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
  • Analyse distribution trends and broker behaviours to inform strategies.
  • Cultivate strong, in-person relationships with brokers in the field.
  • Manage quality assurance and peer reviews to identify opportunities for underwriting and product improvements.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and developments in industry segments, building relationships with capacity partners.
  • Take charge of personal technical and skill set progression.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to implement distribution strategy.
  • A solid understanding of the commercial insurance market.
  • Proven experience in Agricultural Underwriting with a history of holding underwriting authority.
  • Knowledge of in-scope products and trade range.
  • A track record of successful teamwork and delivering results.

Agricultural Development Underwriter

We are seeking an experienced Agricultural Development Underwriter to join the Underwriting team at Victor. This role will be based out of our Leeds office, however, we are flexible on the location due to the successful candidate being expected to spend time across various locations whilst providing on site underwriting to our brokers.
