Job Description

As an AI Engineer (L2) at Zeta, you will design, implement, and optimize intelligent, multi-agent AI systems for next-generation banking experiences. You will contribute to developing agentic architectures where specialized AI agents collaborate on complex business operations like credit management, payments, and compliance. The role requires strong technical capability in prompt engineering, model orchestration, and applied AI development, alongside an understanding of enterprise-grade reliability, grounding, and security principles.
Must Have:
  • Design, build, and deploy domain-specific AI agents using LLMs/SLMs
  • Contribute to multi-agent orchestration and coordination
  • Implement secure tool-calling pipelines integrating APIs, databases, and enterprise systems
  • Apply prompt engineering, grounding, and evaluation techniques for reliable outputs
  • Develop and integrate MCP clients/servers for AI assistants
  • Collaborate on architecture, modularization, and system integrations
  • Build reusable agent templates, knowledge resources, and prompt libraries
  • Implement guardrails, grounding, and compliance frameworks for safe model behavior
  • Create benchmarks, tests, and evaluation scripts for performance and reliability
  • Hands-on with multi-agent frameworks like AutoGen, CrewAI, or MCP
  • Experience integrating AI systems in banking, fintech, or regulated domains
  • Familiar with vector databases, retrieval pipelines, and knowledge graphs
  • Knowledge of LLM evaluation methods such as LLM-as-a-judge and prompt tuning
  • Experience deploying models on cloud AI platforms (AWS, Azure, or Vertex AI)
  • 2–4 years of experience building or integrating AI-driven applications
  • Hands-on with LLMs/SLMs and frameworks like LangChain, Transformers, or FastAPI
  • Strong in Python, prompt engineering, and model evaluation techniques
  • Familiar with secure API design, PII protection, and Git-based collaboration
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS, AI/ML, Data Science, or related field

About the Role

As an AI Engineer (L2), you will design, implement, and optimize intelligent, multi-agent AI systems that power next-generation banking experiences.

Working under the guidance of the Lead AI Engineer, you’ll contribute to developing agentic architectures — ecosystems of multiple specialized AI agents that collaborate to perform complex business operations like credit management, payments, and compliance workflows.

This role demands strong hands-on technical capability in prompt engineering, model orchestration, and applied AI development — combined with a keen understanding of enterprise-grade reliability, grounding, and security principles.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy domain-specific AI agents using LLMs/SLMs for tasks like summarization, extraction, and dialogue.
  • Contribute to multi-agent orchestration and coordination via central controller agents.
  • Implement secure tool-calling pipelines integrating APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.
  • Apply prompt engineering, grounding, and evaluation techniques for reliable outputs.
  • Develop and integrate MCP clients/servers for customer and back-office AI assistants.
  • Collaborate with AI leads on architecture, modularization, and system integrations.
  • Build reusable agent templates, knowledge resources, and prompt libraries.
  • Implement guardrails, grounding, and compliance frameworks for safe model behavior.
  • Create benchmarks, tests, and evaluation scripts for performance and reliability.
  • Stay updated with LLM/agentic frameworks and share learnings to foster innovation.

Skills

  • Hands-on with multi-agent frameworks like AutoGen, CrewAI, or MCP.
  • Experience integrating AI systems in banking, fintech, or regulated domains.
  • Familiar with vector databases, retrieval pipelines, and knowledge graphs.
  • Knowledge of LLM evaluation methods such as LLM-as-a-judge and prompt tuning.
  • Experience deploying models on cloud AI platforms (AWS, Azure, or Vertex AI).

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS, AI/ML, Data Science, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of experience building or integrating AI-driven applications.

  • Strong in Python, prompt engineering, and model evaluation techniques.
