Job Description

The PTX Risk & Compliance Management team at N26 is seeking an AI Governance Analyst to support AI governance, regulatory compliance, risk assessments, and training. This role involves assisting with AI Ethics Committee documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations like MaRisk, GDPR, AI Act, and DORA, conducting AI risk assessments, and preparing training materials to foster AI governance awareness across the organization.

Must Have:
  • Assist with the organization and documentation of the AI Ethics Committee meetings.
  • Ensure that AI-related documentation is compliant, complete, accurate, and accessible.
  • Support the formalization, documentation, and standardization of AI governance policies, procedures, and tools.
  • Prepare materials for internal and external audits or regulatory inquiries.
  • Assist in monitoring AI compliance checks to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
  • Support record-keeping to demonstrate compliance with regulations (MaRisk, GDPR, AI Act, Data Governance Act, DORA).
  • Analyze regulatory developments and industry best practices in AI governance.
  • Support 1 LoD teams in the correct interpretation and implementation of regulatory requirements (EU AI Act etc.).
  • Support the documentation of AI assessments to confirm alignment with internal processes and compliance requirements.
  • Review completed assessments for completeness and prepare summaries for decision-making.
  • Contribute to maintaining the quality and consistency of compliance processes.
  • Support the continuous monitoring and improvement of assessments in line with evolving best practices and regulations.
  • Prepare training materials for AI compliance and governance.
  • Collect, maintain, and review training resources such as user documentation.
  • Foster a culture of AI governance awareness across N26.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements (German Banking Act (KWF), MaRisk, BAIT).
  • Knowledge of common industry standards (eg. COSO, COBIT/ITIL).
  • Interest in emerging risks such as AI and machine learning.
  • Ability to create structure and detailed governance documentation.
  • Ability to set-up new structures and processes in a fast changing & growing environment.
  • Strong analytical skill set.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both upwards and laterally across colleagues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and work cross functionally.
  • Fluent in English.

About the opportunity

The PTX Risk & Compliance Management team's main focus is to promote and facilitate a strong culture of compliance across each 1 LoD (Line of Defence) organisation through supporting 1 LoD process owners, 2 LoD stakeholders, and senior management in programs with a regulatory focus. The team seeks to enable N26 to grow by establishing firm roots in compliance. Additionally, the team acts as an advocate and educator for PTX teams on regulatory and compliance topics.

In this role, you will:

The AI Governance Analyst will support four key areas:

AI Governance

  • Assist with the organization and documentation of the AI Ethics Committee meetings.
  • Ensure that AI-related documentation is compliant, complete, accurate, and accessible.
  • Support the formalization, documentation, and standardization of AI governance policies, procedures, and tools.

AI Regulatory Compliance

  • Prepare materials for internal and external audits or regulatory inquiries.
  • Assist in monitoring AI compliance checks to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
  • Support record-keeping to demonstrate compliance with regulations (MaRisk, GDPR, AI Act, Data Governance Act, DORA) and assist with ongoing monitoring activities.
  • Analyze regulatory developments and industry best practices in AI governance to support senior leadership in establishing internal controls.
  • Support 1 LoD teams in the correct interpretation and implementation of regulatory requirements (EU AI Act etc.)

AI Risk & Ethical Assessments

  • Support the documentation of AI assessments to confirm alignment with internal processes and compliance requirements.
  • Review completed assessments for completeness and prepare summaries for decision-making.
  • Contribute to maintaining the quality and consistency of compliance processes
  • Support the continuous monitoring and improvement of assessments in line with evolving best practices and regulations.

Trainings & Awareness

  • Prepare training materials for AI compliance and governance.
  • Collect, maintain, and review training resources such as user documentation.
  • Foster a culture of AI governance awareness across N26.

What you need to be successful:

  • Some knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements (German Banking Act (KWF), MaRisk, BAIT) and common industry standards (eg. COSO, COBIT/ITIL)
  • Interest in reading detailed regulation and developing practical requirements based on it
  • Interest in emerging risks such as AI and machine learning
  • Ability to create structure and detailed governance documentation
  • Ability to set-up new structures and processes in a fast changing & growing environment
  • Strong analytical skill set
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both upwards and laterally across colleagues
  • Ability to act as a sparring partner with other operational colleagues
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and work cross functionally
  • An entrepreneurial vision, an autonomous attitude and a “get things done” approach
  • Hands on approach and eagerness to tackle new topics while demonstrating a quick grasp in conceptual project work and strategic thinking
  • Fluent in English. German is a plus
