Apple is seeking a highly motivated Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineer to join a new AIML team focused on Generative AI and Large Language Models. The role involves building world-class experiences using world knowledge, fostering curiosity, facilitating learning, and enhancing decision-making through ML-driven products. You will advance and apply the latest ML techniques, craft meaningful experiences for millions of users, and bring research to production through rapid prototyping and experimentation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applied ML research and development, product building, and the ability to develop end-to-end ML solutions. Responsibilities include data scaling, model implementation, and training, collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, leading ML/AI initiatives, and navigating ambiguity with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Must Have
- BSc in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
- 10+ years experience leading ML/AI initiatives
- Technical expertise in generative AI, traditional ML, knowledge graphs
- Experience managing rapid prototyping in ML/AI
- Proficiency in PyTorch, TensorFlow
- Experience leading cross-functional technical teams
Good to Have
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning

Job Description
- BSc in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
- 10+ years proven experience leading ML/AI initiatives and teams in a fast-paced environment
- Technical expertise in machine learning, particularly in generative AI, traditional ML, and knowledge graphs
- Experience managing rapid prototyping and proof-of-concept development in ML/AI (particularly GenAI)
- Proficiency in modern ML frameworks and tools (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Experience leading cross-functional technical teams
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
- Strong understanding of ML operations, including model development, evaluation, and deployment
- Outstanding project and program management capabilities
- Track record of building strong partnerships with business collaborators
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate complex ML concepts for various audiences
- Results-driven with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with large-scale ML deployments in customer service environments
- Deep understanding of responsible AI practices and model governance frameworks
