The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Administrative Services is recruiting for an Analyst/Programmer 3/4 located in Juneau!

What you will be doing:
Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with software development skills? The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADFG), Division of Administrative Services, is looking for a .NET developer to join our team and drive our projects to success.
  • Develop new and maintain existing web applications as part of a small team of .NET developers.
  • Assist with the modernization of existing desktop applications into a Microsoft web-based environment.
  • Participate in the migration and maintenance of applications to Microsoft Azure technologies.
  • Collaborate with teammates using Azure DevOps to gather system requirements architect end state solutions.
  • Work closely with team members to develop new division technology standards and services

The working environment you can expect:
This position is located in the Juneau ADFG Headquarters, at 1255 W 8th St next to the boardwalk, which provides ample parking and a great place to walk during breaks. The successful candidate will join a small team of software developers and can expect to interact with other ADFG, IT contractors, and OIT staff regularly using all available platforms.

Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a candidate that has experience in the following areas:
  • Experience in C# with the ASP.NET Framework.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
  • Experience with SQL Server and SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to learn new technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to successfully and consistently follow schedules, set goals, meet deadlines, and accomplish objectives.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Web Accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.0

Minimum Qualifications

Analyst Programmer 3:

Two years of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language. One year of this experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer information management support specialty.

Substitution:

A bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for one year of the required experience. An associate's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems may substitute for nine months of the required experience.

Special Note:

An applicant who is considered under the Substitution above qualifies to apply for this job class IF the applicable coursework is completed within three (3) months of hire. Under this option, an applicant may receive a conditional job offer; however, proof of completion will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.

Individual positions at each level in this class series may require expertise in a particular area of programming or analysis. Recruitment and selection will be on the basis of these requirements.

For some positions in these job classes, a background investigation including fingerprinting is required.


Analyst Programmer 4:
