About Abridge

Abridge was founded in 2018 with the mission of powering deeper understanding in healthcare. Our AI-powered platform was purpose-built for medical conversations, improving clinical documentation efficiencies while enabling clinicians to focus on what matters most—their patients.

Our enterprise-grade technology transforms patient-clinician conversations into structured clinical notes in real-time, with deep EMR integrations. Powered by Linked Evidence and our purpose-built, auditable AI, we are the only company that maps AI-generated summaries to ground truth, helping providers quickly trust and verify the output. As pioneers in generative AI for healthcare, we are setting the industry standards for the responsible deployment of AI across health systems.

We are a growing team of practicing MDs, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working together to empower people and make care make more sense. We have offices located in the SoHo neighborhood of New York, the Mission District in San Francisco, and East Liberty in Pittsburgh.

The Role

Our generative AI-powered products are revolutionizing the practice of medicine, and we’re looking for a highly motivated Data Engineer to join our growing US-based Data Engineering team. In this crucial role, you will take end-to-end ownership of our analytics data models and play a key role in debugging data issues and improving instrumentation to drive business decisions and product analytics.

What You'll Do

  • Own and develop robust, scalable DBT data models that power analytics and downstream use cases

  • Proactively identify, debug, and resolve data quality issues through detailed investigation and cross-functional collaboration

  • Understand business logic behind the collected data, identify anomalies and refine instrumentation for improved data quality

  • Manage and optimize OLAP databases, ELT pipelines, and internal data tools

  • Work closely with engineers, analysts, and product managers to deliver trustworthy, documented, and well-modeled datasets

  • Monitor data pipelines and set up alerts to detect and resolve anomalies quickly

  • Contribute to data infrastructure optimization focused on throughput, latency, and reliability

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for data models, transformations, and dependencies

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering or Data Engineering with a focus on data modeling and debugging

  • Deep expertise in DBT and a strong understanding of dimensional modeling, testing, and documentation best practices

  • Highly proficient in SQL and at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala)

  • Experienced in debugging complex data issues, tracing them through multiple layers of ETL and instrumentation logic

  • Familiar with modern data stack and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and their data services

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and communicating findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong sense of ownership, detail orientation, and a commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality data products

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and can balance multiple priorities with a focus on impact

We value people who are eager to learn new things and recognize that great team members might not perfectly match a job description. If you’re interested in the role but aren’t sure whether or not you’re a good fit, we’d still like to hear from you.
