AppleCare On-Device Quality Engineer

At Apple, we are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our AppleCare Product Ops team. This role involves supporting the planning, crafting, scheduling, coordinating, and implementing tests for projects within the AppleCare On-Device channel. You will work with project PMs, developers, and testers across multiple teams to ensure high-quality products for our business and customers, while continuously improving testing practices and leading end-to-end test activities.

Must Have

• Work with project PMs, developers, and testers to ensure high quality products.
• Continuously improve testing practices.
• Participate in release of system improvements / new functionalities from Development to Production.
• Lead end to end test activities including test strategy, test process management, team coordination and communication.
• Determine test automation approach and scope for project efforts.
• Work with multi-functional teams to support each release project testing and post Release/Change review.
• Develop test plans, facilitate creation of test cases, and test scripts on multiple projects.
• Build and maintain overall testing knowledge repository for the AppleCare Business Development team.
• Continuously improve testing standard processes and methods.
• Report testing metrics including SLAs and indicators.
• BS degree in computer science or information management plus 3-5 years of related QA experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in test case scripting and quality engineering.
• Proven track record of driving quality automation, building tools and QA testing.
• Experience testing on macOS, iOS (mobile apps).
• Solid understanding of SQA methodologies and practices.
• Prior experience with leading QA efforts across multi-functional projects/teams is mandatory.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid experience working with remote teams.
• Strong in analytical problem solving skills.
• Proven bug detection and regression skills.
• Hands-on development experience.

As a AppleCare On-Device Quality Engineer, you will be tasked with working along side project PMs, developers and testers across multiple teams and organizations to fanatically ensure high quality products for our business and customers while continuously improving testing practices.

• You will participate in release of system improvements / new functionalities from Development to Production through effective quality engineering.
• Encouraged to lead end to end test activities including test strategy, test process management, team coordination and communication, be able to determine test automation approach and scope for the project effort work with multi-functional teams to support each release project testing and post Release/Change review.
• You will develop test plans, facilitate creation of test cases, and test scripts on multiple projects of varying size.
• You will build and maintain overall testing knowledge repository for the AppleCare Business Development team, continuously improve testing standard processes and methods, and report testing metrics including SLAs and indicators.

• BS degree in computer science or information management plus 3-5 years of related QA experience
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in test case scripting and quality engineering
• Proven track record of driving quality automation, building tools and QA testing
