Technical Lead - Database QA

As a Technical Lead - Database QA, you will spearhead quality assurance for data management processes within the Global Data team at Aristocrat. This critical role involves collaborating with data stewards, architects, and analysts to ensure data integrity and accuracy. You will conduct comprehensive analysis of master data sets, design and execute test strategies for ETL pipelines, data transformations, and BI dashboards, and automate data validations using SQL and Python. Must Have

• Conduct comprehensive analysis and profiling of master data sets to identify inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and anomalies.
• Collaborate with data stewards, data architects, and business analysts to define and understand Master Data Management (MDM) requirements.
• Lead the design and execution of test strategies for Extract Transform Load (ETL) pipelines, data transformations, and BI dashboards.
• Analyze large data sets and identify data quality issues.
• Conduct both manual and automated testing for data ingestion pipelines, data transformations, and business reports.
• Validate Power BI dashboards and reports for data correctness, layout integrity, and performance.
• Automate data validations using SQL and Python, employing tools such as PyTest, dbt tests, or custom scripts.
• Perform cross-system data comparisons to ensure consistency across data layers and reports.
• Maintain test documentation, including test plans, cases, and defect logs using tools like Jira.
• Participate in agile sprints, release planning, and code reviews to embed QA early in the cycle.
• 6+ years in QA roles with a focus on Master Data Management.
• Proven experience in crafting and developing detailed test plans and test cases, conducting functional, non-functional, and regression testing to ensure data quality.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and validating large datasets.
• Experience testing BI reports and dashboards using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Experience with test automation frameworks such as PyTest, Selenium, and dbt tests.
• Familiarity with ETL tools, Airflow, and data warehouses like Snowflake or BigQuery.
• Experience with version control systems like Git, CI/CD pipelines, and issue tracking tools such as Jira.
