Dun & Bradstreet is seeking an Application Operations Engineer for a fixed-term contract to provide technical support for their point of arrival products, ensuring long-term stability and customer satisfaction. The role involves collaborating with various technical teams, including second-line support, development, infrastructure, cloud, and network teams, as well as incident managers. Responsibilities include building expertise in cloud platforms, monitoring production environments, creating and maintaining documentation, proactive health monitoring, resolving major incidents, analyzing trends, providing project support in a 24/7 third-level capacity, coordinating with service providers, and mentoring junior team members.
Must have:
  • 5 years of IT operations experience
  • Windows and Linux systems knowledge
  • Basic programming knowledge
  • Expert troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of Git/Dev/SecOps
  • Kubernetes, Docker, cloud, IaC understanding
  • Linux shell, Ansible, Bash, Git, Selenium, Splunk APM, synthetics proficiency
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Monitoring external services/applications
  • SOAP requests and REST APIs
  • MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra knowledge
  • Nginx, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss knowledge
  • TCP and TLS connection troubleshooting
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Ownership mindset

  • Fluency in English

Responsibilities

  • Develop Expertise: Build comprehensive knowledge of our strategic cloud platforms.
  • Monitor and Supervise: Review and supervise services and processes in the production environment, updating relevant documents as needed.
  • Documentation: Prepare and deliver data, create, and maintain essential documents and documentation.
  • Proactive Monitoring: Monitor the health and trends of services and components proactively.
  • Incident Resolution: Provide technical expertise to support and resolve major incidents, follow up on root causes, and prevent recurrence.
  • Trend Analysis: Analyze trends and risks, prepare forecasts, and adjust requirements considering effort and costs.
  • Project Support: Offer technical support expertise for various projects across all environments as part of a 24/7 third-level support team.
  • Coordination: Coordinate and communicate effectively with service providers and internal customers
  • Mentoring: Act as a mentor to the junior team members and interns.

Skills

  • Experience: 5 years of professional experience in IT operations with a solid understanding of various systems (Windows, Linux) and basic programming knowledge.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Expert-level ability to troubleshoot incidents in large and complex environments.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of Git/Dev/SecOps, build pipelines, Kubernetes, Docker, cloud, and infrastructure as code.
  • Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with tools such as Linux shell, Ansible, Bash, Git, Selenium, Splunk APM, and synthetics.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Monitoring Experience: Experience in monitoring external services/applications, SOAP requests, and REST APIs.
  • Database Knowledge: Understanding of databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
  • Web Server Knowledge: Knowledge of Nginx, Apache, Tomcat, and JBoss.
  • Network Skills: Ability to troubleshoot TCP and TLS connections.
  • Office Suite Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
