Job Description
The successful candidate will lead all aspects of electrical engineering coordination—ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and seamless integration across MEP, AV, ICT, and building systems.
The role demands deep subject-matter expertise in large-venue electrical systems, multi-disciplinary coordination, and proactive engagement with design consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering oversight for the project from design through construction and commissioning.
- Manage and review consultant and contractor deliverables including electrical design reports, calculations, drawings, load schedules, and technical submittals.
- Ensure coordination across all project-related systems:
- Power distribution (LV/MV)
- Emergency backup systems (generators, UPS)
- Lighting systems
- AV, broadcast, public address, and sports lighting systems
- ICT, BMS, security, access control, and life safety systems
- Ensure all designs meet local and international codes and accommodate future flexibility, resilience, and smart technologies.
- Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, mechanical, and specialist systems teams to ensure cohesive integration of electrical scope.
- Participate / support AoR in authority approvals and permitting processes (e.g., SEC, Civil Defense, MOT).
- Lead technical reviews, design coordination meetings, and progress updates with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Oversee construction-phase technical support, including site inspections, RFIs, change evaluations, testing & commissioning oversight.
- Monitor and report progress against schedule and scope, identifying risks and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Support value engineering, lifecycle cost analysis, and performance benchmarking of stadium systems.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (required); Master's in Power Systems or related field (preferred).
- 15+ years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5–10 years in a lead or managerial role on large-scale public venues.
- Prior experience in PMC, client-representative, or large multidisciplinary consultancy roles is essential.
- In-depth understanding of stadium-specific systems: pitch lighting, event power, AV/broadcast, crowd control systems, and emergency egress requirements.
- Sound knowledge of international electrical and safety standards (NEC, IEC, BS7671, NFPA, SBC).
