As an Associate Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a team of skilled developers to design, implement, test, and maintain software solutions. This entry-level position is designed for individuals eager to enhance their software development skills while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will contribute to various phases of the software development lifecycle, from planning and development to deployment and support. Your role involves writing clean, efficient, and scalable code, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and ensuring that the software meets the company’s quality standards and customer needs.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

• Write, test, and deploy high-quality code, adhering to best practices in software engineering
• Collaborate with senior engineers for code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices
• Participate in unit testing, integration testing, and debugging processes to ensure software functionality and stability
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, and designers to gather requirements and deliver effective software solutions
• Maintain and update technical documentation related to software designs, APIs, and development processes
• Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in software development, and apply new skills to improve project outcomes
• Analyze and troubleshoot software problems, providing prompt solutions to ensure minimal downtime and a seamless user experience

About you

• College degree, Boot-camp certification, or equivalent experience
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues
• Proactive communication skills, asks clarifying questions
• A passion for learning and development to invest in the betterment of self
• Comprehension of the principles of API design and web service integration
• Comfortable working with a distributed team
• On-call shifts may be required dependent on team

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.

Pay Range:

Metro Areas of Boston, District of Columbia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and New York City:

$75,900-$151,700

All other locations:

$63,100-$126,300

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
