Position Overview
This role presents an exciting opportunity for an attorney to join a small, agile legal team supporting the Corporate Solutions business. The position involves close collaboration with senior legal team members and cross-functional stakeholders, offering broad exposure to product development, commercial transactions, and strategic legal initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Lifecycle Legal Support: Provide comprehensive legal guidance throughout the product lifecycle—from initial concept through launch and ongoing operations, enhancements, migrations, and potential sunset of the Corporate Solutions products.
- Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including contracts with clients, vendors, strategic partners, and content providers.
- Strategic Legal Counsel: Advise senior management on day-to-day legal matters related to products and commercial matters, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk mitigation.
- Templates: Update and streamline legal templates and documentation to improve usability, clarity, and consistency across the business.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams including Information Security, Product, Technology, Sales, and other business units to support initiatives and resolve legal issues.
Qualifications & Skills
- Juris Doctor (or equivalent law degree) and a bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 7 years of legal experience, preferably in-house and/or at a top law firm.
- Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial technology transactions for a global business.
- Extensive experience advising product and business teams on commercial, intellectual property, and data privacy matters.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
- Detail-oriented, self-driven, and comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with AI technology and also contracting using a contract lifecycle management platform is a plus.
