Job Description

This role involves aligning commercial and marketing priorities for each brand, ensuring global commercial coherence based on consumer insights, market data, and marketing priorities. The Associate Manager will build data-driven recommendations to enhance brand activation impact across various channels, participate in defining and implementing shopper & customer marketing strategy, and execute brand activation plans with key clients, integrating online and offline activities.

Job Description

Main missions:

Align commercial and marketing priorities at the level of each brand and ensure overall commercial coherence, taking into account consumer insights, market data, marketing, CP and commercial priorities.

Build data-driven recommendations to increase the impact of brand activations at the level of different brands.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Participate in the definition and implementation of a winning Shopper & Customer Marketing strategy, in line with the company and brand vision, with an emphasis on strategic accounts and priority brands.
  • Design and execute brand activation plans with our key clients, reflecting brand priorities and strategies - integrating online and offline activations into 360° plans.
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing Brand Activation and Digital Marketing teams to ensure full integration of plans and the use of innovative marketing tools while working with Regional teams to foster synergies and alignment between countries.
  • Develop and strengthen the partnership with key clients by establishing a relationship of trust and an impeccable commercial plan. Position Mattel as a reference player in marketing activation among distributors.
  • Contribute to the design and optimization of current processes and "working methods" between the Commercial and Marketing departments.
  • Be responsible for the fundamentals of the commercial performance of brands (with defined clients/brands), in collaboration with the commercial team and ensuring optimal visibility at the point of sale.
  • Actively participate in joint development plans with clients (Joint Business Plans), not only by appropriating the client marketing strategy, but also by providing relevant consumer and shopper insights to support the growth of clients and Mattel in the market.
  • Establish an evaluation culture and lead the analysis of key client marketing activations: draw lessons to improve future executions – analysis of sales data combined with consumer and distributor insights. Strengthen shopper understanding within the organization.
  • Monitor budgets to ensure the best return on investment (ROI).

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate key stakeholders.
  • Strategic mindset, capable of translating brand plans into impactful customer activations and contributing to the sustainable success of our brands.
  • Customer experience: strong influencing skills to deliver the best plans for our franchises.
  • Proven experience in implementing "remarkable" retail campaigns generating high return on investment.
  • Demonstrated success in clearly articulating marketing strategies and objectives to clients to influence commercial strategies and in-store activation – conceptual sales experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally, working simultaneously with many interlocutors.
  • Successful experience in managing various projects within budget.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and "out of the box" creative approach.
  • Ability to work autonomously, action and results-oriented.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with strong organization and excellent priority and time management.
  • University degree in Economics, Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Shopper Marketing or in a Commercial/Marketing function with a strong focus on point-of-sale activation and a strong affinity for brands.
  • Digital culture – ability to understand online & offline elements.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Fluent in English and French, both oral and written.
