Job Summary
Broadcom is seeking an ATE Test Development Engineer for its Global Operations supporting Core Switching Group. This role involves developing ATE test programs for networking switches with high power and high-speed serdes, from design to manufacturing. The engineer will also drive test hardware development, debug, optimize test programs for yield and quality, and collaborate with cross-functional and production teams. The position requires hands-on experience with UltraFlex testers and strong debugging skills.
Must Have
- Develop ATE test program for networking switches with high power and high speed serdes.
- Drive hardware development including final test and probe, working with PCB, probe, and socket vendors.
- Debug and bring up test hardware on ATE.
- Drive test time reduction and optimize test program for better yield without impacting quality.
- Work closely with Product Engineers and Design Engineers.
- Communicate with the production team (Asia) to release test programs and collaborate.
- Hands-on experience with Teradyne UltraFlex tester platforms.
- Ability to independently develop complex test programs.
- Ability to support debugging/troubleshooting of various failure mechanisms.
- Ability to perform volume data analysis and correlate failures with system failures.
- Proficiency with Data analysis softwares/languages.
- Programming experience for test method development.
- Ability to work with test hardware development teams.
- Experienced with extreme temperature testing of ASICs at ATE.
- Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of related experience, or Master's Degree and 6+ years of related experience.

Broadcom’s Global Operations supporting Core Switching Group is seeking a candidate for an ATE Test Development Engineer. Products include networking switches for NIC, Scale Up, Scale Out, Scale Across networking for traditional and AI data centers. This position is at our R&D center in Irvine, CA or San Jose, CA. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience of developing test hardware and test programs using UltraFlex testers.
Responsibilities
- Test Development: Develop ATE test program for products for networking switches that are high power and have high speed serdes (>100G) and bring the product from design to manufacturing.
- Test Hardware Development: Responsible for driving hardware development including final test and probe. This involves working with PCB designer, probe vendor, socket vendor.
- Debug: Debug and bring up test hardware on ATE
- Test Program Optimization: Drive test time reduction and optimize test program for better yield without impacting quality of the product.
- Cross functional: Work closely with Product Engineers and Design Engineers
- Production Release: Communicate with the production team (Asia) to release test programs and collaborate with them.
Skills/Experiences
- Hands-on experience with Teradyne UltraFlex tester platforms
- Must be able to independently develop test programs, including complex test flows to support chip specifications around performance and power consumption
- Must be able to support debugging/troubleshooting of various failure mechanisms with the part by working with cross-functional teams
- Ability to perform volume data analysis, Correlate failures with system failures, Proficiency with Data analysis softwares/languages
- Programming experience required for test method development
- Ability to work with test hardware development teams, able to understand chip performance at ATE and contributions from the test hardware on chip behavior
- Experienced with extreme temperature testing of ASICs at ATE
- Experience with AI tools for quick script development is a plus
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of related experience, or Master's Degree and 6+ years of related experience

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $192,000
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
