Job Description

This Atlassian Admin role involves end-to-end ownership of products within the Atlassian platforms, from concept to adoption. The individual will support critical initiatives, interfacing with business collaborators, product, and engineers to deliver innovative enterprise solutions. Responsibilities include project management, building and delivering training, supporting the software development lifecycle, and continuous process improvements for Atlassian applications like Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence. The role also covers administration, maintenance, and configuration of these cloud suite products, ensuring data integrity and managing integrations.
Must have:
  • Successfully deliver on highly visible Atlassian projects.
  • Build, maintain, and deliver training on Atlassian tools.
  • Support the software development lifecycle using Atlassian tools.
  • Contribute to Atlassian project management activities.
  • Identify, develop, and implement continuous process improvements for Atlassian applications.
  • Enable Jira agile and kanban practices.
  • Work with stakeholders to build Jira based reports, dashboards, and planning views.
  • Design and build scalable and standardized processes using Atlassian tools.
  • Implement cross-functional department processes utilizing Jira workflows, automation scripts, and data-driven reporting.
  • Design and implement processes to ensure data integrity and standardization within Atlassian tools.
  • Responsible for administration, maintenance, enhancements, and configurations of Atlassian Cloud Suite products.
  • Assist with maintenance of Jira projects, workflows, screen schemes, custom fields, permission schemes, and notification schemes.
  • Assist with maintenance of Confluence spaces, pages, templates, and permission schemes.
  • Analyze requests for new Jira and Jira Service Management functionality and implement new features.
  • Maintain a healthy Jira and Confluence project environment.
  • Plan, create, and maintain documentation, inventory assessments, and procedures for administration.
  • Manage and periodically review Atlassian tool permissions.
  • Support on-boarding and off-boarding requests.
  • Build, develop and maintain custom integrations with 3rd party applications via REST APIs.
  • Handle escalations from the service ticket queue.
  • On-call support rotation.
  • Administration experience with Atlassian Cloud Suite (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management).
Good to have:
  • EazyBI report construction and administration
  • ScriptRunner behavior management, custom script listeners, and other groovy scripting
  • Jira Workflow Toolbox post function management
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and Postman, ideally the Atlassian Cloud REST APIs
  • Jira Automation construction and administration

Job Details

The individual in this role will support key critical initiatives and will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of products within the Atlassian platforms including concept inception, delivery, and adoption. This position will interface closely with business collaborators, product, and engineers to deliver innovative solutions for the enterprise.

Project Management

  • Successfully deliver on highly visible Atlassian projects of strategic importance to the organization
  • Build, maintain, and deliver training on Atlassian tools for the company
  • Support the software development lifecycle and the technology team on all aspects of delivery that utilize Atlassian tools
  • Contribute to Atlassian project management activities from project discovery through post-implementation efforts, including definition and management of achievements, requirements, workplan, resources, vendors, budget, scope, issues and risks, change, and collaborators
  • Identify, develop, and implement continuous process improvements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Atlassian applications
  • Enable Jira agile and kanban practices to cross-functional engineering and IT stakeholders
  • Work with stakeholders to assist them in building Jira based reports, dashboards, and planning views based on different user requirements to provide them with actionable project metrics and status reports where appropriate
  • Work with end users to design and build scalable and standardized processes based on best practices using Atlassian tools
  • Understand a variety of different business needs and processes currently using Atlassian tools, and recommend automation of business processes where appropriate
  • Implement cross-functional department processes utilizing Jira standard and custom workflows engines, automation scripts and data-driven reporting tools
  • Design and implement processes to ensure data integrity and standardization within Atlassian tools
  • Stay up to date with the latest relevant Atlassian offerings and functionality

Administration

  • Responsible for administration, maintenance, enhancements, and configurations of Atlassian Cloud Suite products (Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence)
  • Assist with maintenance of all capabilities associated with Jira projects, workflows, screen schemes, custom fields, permission schemes, and associated notification schemes
  • Assist with maintenance of all capabilities associated with Confluence spaces, pages, templates, and permission schemes
  • Analyze requests for new Jira and Jira Service Management functionality, implement new features, triage incoming support requests, and handle or route appropriately
  • Maintain a healthy Jira and Confluence project environment by periodically reviewing configurations, permissions, workflows, reports, and dashboards
  • Plan, create, and maintain the appropriate documentation, inventory assessments, and procedures related to administration of the applications
  • Communicates positively and effectively with customers, coworkers, and stakeholders to understand administrative needs and resolve support issues
  • Manage and periodically review Atlassian tool permissions in accordance with company policies
  • Support on-boarding and off-boarding requests in working with the HR and IT team
  • Build, develop and maintain custom integrations (out-of-box and custom scripts) with 3rd party applications via REST APIs
  • Handle escalations from the service ticket queue to ensure timely resolution for end user issues
  • On-call support rotation

Required Skills

  • Administration experience with Atlassian Cloud Suite (Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management)
  • 3 to 5 years of work experience
