THE ROLE & WHY IT EXISTS

Gravitee.io is taking APIs to the next level, we are the premier, open-source API platform and we want everyone to know how amazing our software is. To make this happen, we need someone passionate, ambitious, curious, and competitive looking to help our business and play a fundamental role in building something special. This is where you come in.

As a Workflow Automation Engineer, you'll be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining automated workflows that connect our business systems and drive operational excellence. Your role will directly impact our ability to scale efficiently by creating intelligent automation solutions that eliminate manual processes and enhance data flow across our organisation.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Design & Build Automated Workflows: Develop and implement sophisticated workflow automations using N8n to connect various business systems, streamline processes, and enhance operational efficiency across the organisation
• Integrate Business Systems: Create seamless integrations between platforms such as HubSpot, Zendesk, BigQuery, and other business-critical tools, ensuring reliable data synchronisation and process automation.
• Develop Custom Solutions: Write clean, maintainable JavaScript code to build custom workflow nodes, functions, and integrations that address specific business requirements and extend automation capabilities.
• Data Management & Analytics: Work with BigQuery to design data pipelines, automate reporting workflows, and ensure data accuracy across our analytics infrastructure.
• API Integration & Development: Leverage REST APIs to connect disparate systems, troubleshoot integration issues, and ensure robust, scalable automation solutions that can grow with the business.
• Monitor & Optimise: Continuously monitor workflow performance, identify bottlenecks, implement improvements, and ensure the reliability and efficiency of all automation processes.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Product, and other teams to understand their workflow needs and deliver automation solutions that enhance their productivity and effectiveness.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create comprehensive documentation for all workflows and automations, and contribute to internal knowledge bases to enable team members to understand and maintain solutions.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS - The right candidate will possess at least the following skills:

• Proven experience with N8n workflow automation platform, including building, deploying, and maintaining complex workflows
• Strong JavaScript coding skills with the ability to write clean, efficient code for custom functions and integrations
• Hands-on experience with BigQuery for data management, querying, and building automated data pipelines
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, including authentication methods, request/response handling, and API integration best practices
• Experience integrating business applications and connecting multiple systems through APIs
• 2+ years in a workflow automation, integration, or similar technical role
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues
• Strong communication skills to gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translate them into technical solutions
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Attention to detail and commitment to building reliable, maintainable automation solutions

DESIRED SKILLS - Additionally, these skills are not required, but preferable:

• Experience with HubSpot API for CRM automation and marketing workflow integration
• Experience with Zendesk API for customer support workflow automation
• Familiarity with other automation platforms (Zapier, Make, Workato)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of data transformation and ETL processes
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git)
• Experience with additional programming languages (Python, TypeScript)
• Knowledge of Gravitee's API management platform or similar API gateway technologies
• Experience with event-driven architectures and webhooks
