Pipeline Studios is seeking a talented Background Artist (Location Artist) for their studio in Colombia. The role involves designing and illustrating high-quality backgrounds and environments using Adobe Animate. Responsibilities include collaborating with directors, layout artists, and storyboard teams to translate scripts and storyboards into visually appealing settings, ensuring continuity with character animation, and creating layered backgrounds for 2D animation pipelines. The artist will also adapt to a pre-established art style, optimize files for production, participate in art reviews, and assist with color styling and light/shadow passes as needed. Strong communication and time management skills are essential for working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
Must have:
- 4+ years of experience in 2D background design
- Proficiency in Adobe Animate
- Strong portfolio demonstrating 2D background art
- Knowledge of perspective, color theory, composition
- Experience with layered backgrounds for animation
- Ability to design within a style guide
- Strong drawing and painting skills
- Teamwork and ability to receive direction
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Good time management and deadline adherence
- Professional, positive, and collaborative attitude
Good to have:
- Environmental storytelling experience
- Experience with parallax scrolling backgrounds
- Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Toon Boom Harmony
- Ability to work independently on multiple episodes

Artista de Fondos (Adobe Animate)
Responsabilidades del Puesto
- Diseñar e ilustrar fondos y escenarios de alta calidad utilizando Adobe Animate.
- Colaborar estrechamente con directores, artistas de layout y equipos de storyboard para interpretar guiones y storyboards en entornos visualmente atractivos.
- Asegurar que los fondos complementen la animación de personajes y mantengan la continuidad visual en las escenas.
- Crear fondos por capas y composiciones listas para parallax dentro de los pipelines de animación 2D.
- Adaptar y mantener un estilo visual coherente que esté alineado con la dirección de arte del proyecto.
- Optimizar archivos para producción mediante una organización clara de capas, símbolos y convenciones de nombres.
- Participar en revisiones de arte, incorporar retroalimentación de manera constructiva y cumplir con los plazos de entrega.
- Apoyar con el color styling y pasadas de luz/sombra cuando sea necesario.
- Mantener comunicación constante con el equipo de composición para asegurar la integración fluida de los fondos.
Requisitos y habilidades:
- Más de 4 años de experiencia como diseñador(a) de escenarios 2D en un estudio de animación profesional.
- Dominio de Adobe Animate y portafolio sólido que demuestre experiencia en arte de fondos/escenarios 2D.
- Conocimientos sólidos en perspectiva, teoría del color, composición y narrativa ambiental.
- Experiencia creando fondos por capas para animación y desplazamiento tipo parallax.
- Capacidad para diseñar dentro de una guía de estilo preestablecida.
- Fuertes habilidades de dibujo y pintura (digital o tradicional).
- Comodidad trabajando en equipo y recibiendo dirección de líderes creativos y supervisores.
- Capacidad para trabajar de forma independiente y gestionar tiempos en múltiples episodios.
- Experiencia con herramientas complementarias como Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop o Toon Boom Harmony.
- Excelentes habilidades de comunicación y colaboración dentro de equipos multidisciplinarios.
- Buen manejo del tiempo y habilidad para cumplir con fechas límite exigentes.
- Actitud profesional, positiva, colaborativa y orientada al trabajo en equipo.
