Job Summary

Job Description

Provide legal support to Valeo Group entities in various countries across multiple jurisdictions (including but not limited to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania). The role involves general corporate legal advice, contract negotiations, policy development, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, strategic planning, business acumen, leadership, public speaking, communication, and research. The ideal candidate should have experience in international law firms or in-house departments of multinational companies, be fluent in German and English, and possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Must have:
  • Advise on various corporate legal matters for group entities in different countries.
  • Draft and review commercial contracts such as supply, distribution, procurement, non-disclosure, and sales terms agreements.
  • Develop policies and procedures for Valeo Group entities in line with local regulations and global standards.
  • Act as a liaison between Valeo Group entities and external parties.
  • Identify potential conflicts within the organization and resolve them.
  • Support the implementation of the legal department's strategic plan.
  • Understand business operations and goals to provide practical legal solutions.
  • Manage internal teams, external counsel, and other stakeholders effectively.
  • Present legal updates, training sessions, and compliance programs.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports, memorandums, presentations, and correspondence.
  • Law degree from a reputable university.
  • Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in a leading law firm or in-house legal department.
  • Fluency in German and English.

  • Additional qualifications in European or International law.
  • Experience in the automotive sector.
  • Proficiency in French, Italian, or another relevant language.

Job Summary:

Provide legal support to Valeo Group entities in various countries across multiple jurisdictions (including but not limited to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania). The role will involve providing general corporate legal advice, contract negotiations, policy development, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, strategic planning, business acumen, leadership, public speaking, communication, research, etc. The ideal candidate should have experience in international law firms or in-house departments of multinational companies, be fluent in German and English, and possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Job Responsibilities:

1. General Corporate Legal Advice: Advise on various corporate legal matters for group entities in different countries, including entity setups, corporate governance, shareholders’ agreements, employment laws, data protection, litigation strategy, etc.

2. Contract Negotiations: Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts such as supply agreements, distribution agreements, procurement contracts, non-disclosure agreements, sales terms, etc.

3. Policy Development: Develop policies and procedures for Valeo Group entities in line with local regulations and global standards, covering areas like anti-bribery & corruption, export control, data privacy, cybersecurity, etc.

4. Stakeholder Management: Act as a liaison between Valeo Group entities and external parties, including government authorities, regulators, suppliers, customers, NGOs, industry associations, etc.

5. Conflict Resolution: Identify potential conflicts within the organization and resolve them through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation where necessary.

6. Strategic Planning: Support the implementation of the legal department's strategic plan, which includes risk assessments, budget forecasts, resource allocation, project management, etc.

7. Business Acumen: Understand the business operations and goals of Valeo Group entities and provide practical solutions to legal issues while considering their impact on the business.

8. Leadership: Manage internal teams, external counsel, and other stakeholders effectively by setting clear objectives, managing workloads, ensuring timely reporting, and fostering collaboration.

9. Public Speaking: Present legal updates, training sessions, and compliance programs to employees, management, and external audiences.

10. Communication: Prepare clear and concise reports, memorandums, presentations, and correspondence for both legal and non-legal audiences.

Job Qualifications:

1. Education: Law degree from a reputable university, preferably with additional qualifications in European or International law.

2. Experience: Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in a leading law firm or in-house legal department of a multinational company, ideally in the automotive sector.

3. Languages: Fluency in German and English is essential; proficiency in French, Italian, or another relevant language would be an asset.

4. Skills: Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills are required. Strong leadership abilities, strategic thinking, and business acumen are also essential.

5. Other: Adaptability, flexibility, independence, reliability, proactivity, and teamwork are highly valued traits. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is assumed.
