ABOUT THE ROLE

The BI Developer serves as a bridge between the data platform and the Leovegas business. Day-to-day work will range from data warehousing and technical automation to complex, open-ended analyses. You will work with other BI Developers, Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to support the use of data-driven decision making and the creation of data-driven operational systems. Initially, this person will work primarily in the sportsbook domain but also support other verticals and business areas moving forward.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Maintain, add to, optimize, and ensure the quality of our internal-facing reporting data warehouse used for data visualization, business reporting, analysis, and data science
• Break down complex business questions with ambiguous requirements, with the end goal to perform comprehensive analyses informing business understanding and strategic decision making
• Create dashboards, analyses, and automated solutions in response to business stakeholder needs and requests
• Telling and presenting well-organized data stories, both high-level and hyper-specific
• Support a culture of operational excellence and data literacy

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Advanced SQL skills – ability to write complex queries on large datasets with many joins, CTEs, window functions etc. with proven experience on a common warehouse such as Bigquery, Redshift, Snowflake, SQL Server etc.
• Experience with ETL, data testing and quality, performance/cost optimization
• Highly proficient with a data visualization tool such as Domo, Tableau, Looker, Power BI
• Strong business intuition and ability to create models/frameworks to break down complex problems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to persuade and generate consensus

NICE TO HAVES:

• Experience in gambling, gaming, sports, trading or related industries
• Experience with one or multiple of the following: DBT, Python, Airflow, GCP services, Google Analytics/Mixpanel/other product analytics tool, experimentation, predictive modeling
