Description

Position at LeoVegas Group

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you a strategic compliance leader with a sharp mind, a sense of humour, and a passion for enabling responsible business growth? Do you thrive on solving complex problems, building strong teams, and bridging the gap between compliance obligations and risk and commercial opportunity? If so - LeoVegas Group wants you.

LeoVegas is a leading GameTech group at the cutting edge of mobile gaming innovation, operating globally through powerful brands like LeoVegas and BetMGM. Since being acquired by MGM Resorts International in 2022, we’ve been on a steep trajectory of transformation and expansion -and now we’re building a powerhouse Nordic compliance function to match.

This is a rare opportunity to take the reins of compliance across the Nordics (Sweden, Denmark, and soon, Finland) - leading the way not just in governance, but in shaping the way compliance supports commercial success.

As Head of Compliance – Nordics, you’ll be the go-to expert for senior Nordic management on all things compliance for our Nordic markets. You’ll lead a regional team (which factors in both dotted and direct line reports from the wider LeCo support function), sit at the table with commercial decision-makers, and be a critical link between the wider business and LeCo.

This isn’t about saying "no" - it’s about knowing how to say “yes,” responsibly.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Build, lead and enable smooth processes and communication for a high-performing Nordic dedicated compliance team, covering Sweden, Denmark, and (upon licensing) Finland.
  • Be the bridge between business and compliance: guiding commercial teams on regulatory obligations and embedding compliance into business decisions and working closely with other regional compliance heads to ensure consistency of Group reporting and risk.
  • Partner closely with other verticals in LeCo - Privacy, Legal, Technical Compliance, AML Governance - to ensure cohesion and clarity and “one voice” from LeCo towards the business functions.
  • Represent the Group with Nordic regulators and lead proactive engagement alongside our Policy & Regulatory Affairs team.
  • Monitor and report on regional compliance and identify and take accountability for when issues or risks require central clearance, escalation, or consultation with the Group’s central LeCo functions rather than being decided in the regional management team ensuring transparency and alignment across Group.Stay ahead of regulatory developments, shape internal processes, and ensure we're always a step ahead.
  • Own and manage all Nordic reporting obligations, including those to local regulators and MGM Resorts International.
  • Maintain a “business partner” mindset - solving problems, not creating roadblocks.
  • Promote collaboration across the Group to avoid silos and build consistent, scalable practices.

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

  • A Master’s degree in Law or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior compliance or regulatory role.
  • Proven experience influencing policy, engaging regulators, and contributing to consultation responses.
  • A track record of working closely with commercial teams and translating complex regulatory matters into practical business solutions.
  • A passion for building and enabling teams.
  • A sense of humour, resilience under pressure, and a team-first mindset.
