TelevisaUnivision is looking for a Broadcast Maintenance Engineer to support the Director of Technology overseeing and participating in the installation, maintenance and repair of TV and Radio studio, transmitting and ancillary equipment in order to maintain competitive signals in the market while complying with all FCC technical requirements.
Must have:
  • Maintains station operation through preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Helps establish and execute routine maintenance procedures and schedules for all broadcast equipment.
  • Performs necessary measurements of equipment performance.
  • Installs and performs maintenance on compression systems, network distribution, Audio/Video router, production switcher, audio consoles, etc.
  • Provides maintenance and support of computer networks and related systems.
  • Electrical plant level 1 troubleshooting and operational maintenance.
  • Physical plant HVAC level 1 troubleshooting and operational maintenance.
  • Provides regular performance feedback to management.
  • Support for news and sales operations as needed.

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:

YOUR DAY-DAY

  • Maintains station operation through preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Helps establish and execute routine maintenance procedures and schedules for all broadcast equipment.
  • Performs necessary measurements of equipment performance.
  • Installs and performs maintenance on compression systems, network distribution, Audio/Video router, production switcher, audio consoles, etc.
  • Provides maintenance and support of computer networks and related systems.
  • Electrical plant level 1 troubleshooting and operational maintenance.
  • Physical plant HVAC level 1 troubleshooting and operational maintenance.
  • Provides regular performance feedback to management.
  • Support for news and sales operations as needed.

YOU HAVE

  • Knowledge of all applicable FCC rules and regulations
  • Computer literacy in applicable software packages
  • Working knowledge of computer networking technology.
  • Ability to troubleshoot broadcast equipment to the component level.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair transmitting facilities and high-power TV transmitting facilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving ability and skill in prioritizing.
  • Knowledge of fuel storage tanks.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, including but not limited to UPS, distribution systems, generators, as well as appropriate record keeping.
  • Interact with management and staff at all levels.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle pressures and deadlines
  • Minimum 5 years Broadcast experience with TV/Radio Studio and transmission facilities.
  • Must possess valid state drivers license
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • May require lifting or moving up to 75 lbs.
  • May require climbing ladders and working on elevated surfaces (e.g. rooftops).
  • Requires good manual dexterity for soldering, use of hand tools and working on small components.
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to be on call out to respond to transmission systems failures to various locations.
