Join us as a Business Reporting Lead and lead by example when it comes to using cutting-edge data reporting initiatives.This dynamic, hands-on role calls for advanced expertise in Power BI, SQL, and data pipeline development, combined with a passion for mentoring and empowering others.
You'll be at the forefront of driving digital transformation, working closely with the Finance team and the wider firm in mastering best-practice reporting, insightful analysis, and innovative digital tools.
Key responsibilities:
- You will be required to maintain, enhance and troubleshoot existing Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring they meet business requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Lead initiatives to enhance the Finance team’s reporting capabilities and digital awareness by conducting training sessions and knowledge-sharing workshops on digital reporting tools and best practices.
- Advocate for the adoption of digital tools across the Finance team to improve reporting efficiency and data accessibility.
- Ability to explain technical solutions in plain language.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and reporting automation.
- Develop and implement automated reporting solutions to reduce manual tasks and increase reporting efficiency.
- Work alongside NZIT/ Systems Accountant to leverage digital skillset.
Ngā pūkenga kei a koe / Skills and experience
- Proven experience as a Reporting Lead, Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, or similar role, preferably in a Finance and Operations environment.
- Strong expertise in Power BI for report building, data visualisation and dashboard development.
- Strong financial literacy, with ability to understand P&L and operational KPIs, and translate these into meaningful reporting.
- Ability to work with large datasets and complex reporting requirements.
- Proven ability to design and implement complex DAX measures to support advanced reporting and data modelling requirements.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, including reading, writing, and optimising complex stored procedures.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory (building/managing ETL pipelines) and understanding of Azure SQL Database.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, M365 with a keen ability to handle complex datasets and reporting structures.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex reporting and BI concepts to non-technical team members and senior stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
- Ability to work in an agile, digital environment.
