As a Business Strategy & Operations Manager (BSOM), you will partner closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and the Engineering leadership team at Dialpad to drive operational excellence, strategic execution, and organizational cohesion. This highly trusted role blends executive partnership, organizational leadership, and cross-functional collaboration, focusing on optimizing the CTO's priorities, managing strategic communications, and streamlining processes within a fast-scaling tech organization.
Must Have
- Provide high-level executive support as a trusted partner to the CTO.
- Masterfully manage the CTO’s schedule to optimize time and priorities.
- Draft internal memos, board decks, and town hall presentations.
- Oversee complex travel planning and T&E initiatives for leadership.
- Manage the flow of information into the CTO’s office, prioritizing urgent requests.
- Design and orchestrate operational rhythms, including leadership offsites and all-hands meetings.
- Identify bottlenecks in current workflows and implement scalable systems.
- Lead quarterly planning and OKR setting process for EPD.
- Foster deep relationships with Marketing, Sales, and Finance.
- Produce annual global EPD Hackathon and other high-impact cross-functional meetups.
- Partner with Operations Assistant for Engineering-specific administrative tasks.
- Assist in tracking the Engineering department’s travel and entertainment (T&E) budget.
- Partner with HR to operationalize departmental training and documentation.
- Oversee the execution of office operations and event logistics.
- 6+ years in business operations, project management, chief of staff, or executive support.
- Ability to build cross-functional relationships and act as a liaison.
- Proven ability to manage complex calendars and logistics.
- Innovative mindset focused on streamlined, efficient processes.
- Experience leading meetings and creating executive-level presentations.
- Exceptional project management skills with initiative.

Your role
As a Business Strategy & Operations Manager (BSOM), you will partner closely with our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and the Engineering leadership team to drive operational excellence, strategic execution, and organizational cohesion across Engineering. This is a highly trusted role at the center of a fast-scaling organization, blending executive partnership, organizational leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
This position reports to our CTO and has the opportunity to be based in our San Ramon Office.
What you’ll do
- Thought Partnership: Provide high-level executive support as a trusted partner to the CTO, ensuring seamless synchronization between leadership priorities, strategic workflows, and team needs.
- Time & Priority Optimization: Masterfully manage the CTO’s schedule to ensure energy is focused on the highest-leverage initiatives and long-term priorities.
- Strategic Communication: Draft internal memos, board decks, and town hall presentations; manage executive presence at conferences and press events.
- Logistics & Travel: Oversee complex travel planning and T&E initiatives for the CTO and broader engineering leadership.
- Executive Correspondence: Manage the flow of information into the CTO’s office; screen emails, prioritize urgent requests, and ensure timely responses to internal and external stakeholders.
- Operational Rhythms: Design and orchestrate the "pulse" of the org, including leadership offsites, Engineering Manager summits, and all-hands meetings.
- Process Engineering: Identify bottlenecks in our current workflows and implement scalable systems to fix them.
- Strategic Planning: Lead the quarterly planning and OKR setting process for EPD, ensuring goals align with broader business objectives.
- Cross-Functional Bridge: Foster deep relationships with Marketing, Sales, and Finance to ensure Engineering operates in a collaborative and integrated manner, never in a silo.
- Signature Events: Produce our annual global EPD Hackathon and other high-impact cross-functional meetups.
- Logistics Oversight: Partner with the Operations Assistant to ensure all Engineering-specific administrative tasks—from vendor contracts to office space needs for the technical team—are executed with precision.
- Budget & Expense Tracking: Assist in tracking the Engineering department’s travel and entertainment (T&E) budget, ensuring compliance with company policy and the efficient use of resources.
- People Operations: Partner with HR to operationalize departmental training and documentation, ensuring people programs are seamlessly integrated into the Engineering workflow.
- Delegation: Oversee the execution of office operations and event logistics, ensuring high standards are met across the board.

California Salary Range
$142,650 - $180,675 USD
