As a System Software Engineering Intern in the Graphics Software Engineering organization, you will learn and work on the newest technologies associated with graphics.
Must Have
- Current student status and availability to remain student during the length of our internship
- Working knowledge of C++
- Knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems
- Desire and ability to quickly learn and gain new knowledge
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Good to Have
- Practical knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python)
- Currently pursuing Computer Science or related degree
- Knowledge of latest C++ standard (C++20, C++23)
- Experience with 3D graphics and GPGPU pipeline and API standards: OpenCL, CUDA, Direct3D, Vulkan, OpenGL/ES, SYCL, Level Zero, etc
- Personal interests and/or hobby in the area of AI, computer graphics, game development, and others

Our team enables a full spectrum of graphics products - from high-end discrete cards used in data centers for AI training and High Performance Compute, through consumer products targeting productivity and edge devices used for image translation and AI inference, down to integrated graphics in laptops and desktops around the world powering the client AI revolution.
We are looking for a System Software Engineering Intern to learn new things and ways of working to join us. As a member of the Graphics Software Engineering organization, you will work on the newest technologies associated with graphics. Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Gaining and continuously extending in-depth knowledge of graphics architecture and features as well as demonstrating it in day-to-day activities
- Using a structured approach in designing, developing, and testing graphics system-level software and tools
- Working with various partners to enhance and improve graphics performance on upcoming processor graphics devices by analyzing performance issues in software drivers and applications, implementing software performance improvements, and recommending future hardware and software improvements
- Ensuring our hardware and software will function and perform as expected
- Root-causing and resolving issues

The Software and AI (SAI) Team drives customer value by enabling differentiated experiences through leadership AI technologies and foundational software stacks, products, and services. The group is responsible for developing the holistic strategy for client and data center software in collaboration with OSVs, ISVs, developers, partners and OEMs. The group delivers specialized NPU IP to enable the AI PC and GPU IP to support all of market segments. The group also has HW and SW engineering experts responsible for delivering IP, SOCs, runtimes, and platforms to support the CPU and GPU/accelerator roadmap, inclusive of integrated and discrete graphics.
