Join Apple's Cellular Silicon Development team as a Cellular Power Verification Engineer. You will automate power, performance, and thermal testing for ultra-low-power cellular modems. Responsibilities include defining software architecture, implementing test frameworks, and developing SoC cellular test cases for 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G RAT technologies. You will also design tools to correlate measured system metrics with planned records, provide weekly performance KPI summaries to executives, and communicate regressions and project roadblocks. Collaboration with cross-functional teams for design reviews and KPI test plans is essential. The role requires defining product KPI metrics with internal teams to ensure high-quality wireless user experience.
Must have:

Would you like to join Apple’s growing Cellular Silicon Development team? Our Wireless Technologies and Ecosystem's organization is responsible for all aspects of wireless SW development with a particular emphasis on highly energy efficient design and new technologies that transform the user experience at the product level, all of which is driven by a world-class vertically integrated engineering. As a Cellular Power Verification Engineer, you will be a key member of our highly innovative Cellular team, developing Cellular technology and SoC for novel ultra-low-power cellular modems.
You will be responsible for helping define the software architecture/design for frameworks that automate power, performance, thermal testing and measurement and implement them. This individual is also responsible for defining SoC cellular testcases for 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G RAT technologies in cross-functional team setting with system, firmware and other relevant cellular software teams. Further develop, implement and test them. You will also design methodologies and tools to correlation the measured system metrics like voltage, power, frequencies, timelines to those PORed (Plan of Record) for the respective projects. You will provide a weekly comprehensive summary on the power and performance KPI (Key Performance Indicators) dashboard for Apple cellular platforms to executives and relevant stakeholders. Furthermore, communicate clearly the information and concerns with regards to functional, power, performance regressions for the cellular sub-system and project roadblocks that may potentially affect the projects. And also participate in cross-functional SW design architecture reviews with various wireless technology teams and collaborate with all the relevant vertical development teams in embedded wireless organization on system verification and KPI test plans. Lastly, you will collaborate with internal hardware and system software teams in the early stages of the development cycle to define the product KPI metrices using the data and knowledge from previous projects, to ensure high quality wireless user experience in the Apple wireless products.
Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree.
Strong programming skills in Python and prior experience in test automation are essential.
2+ years of experience with Linux, macOS systems, and command-line tools are required.
Familiarity with lab equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters is beneficial.
Hardware knowledge and experience with embedded software are highly valued.
Experience in development of automation tools.
Strong analytical thinking, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently are also crucial.
Ability to work cross functional.
Excellent spoken and written communication skills are essential.
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $129,600 and $236,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.<br><br>Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
