Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Millwright will maintain equipment and limit downtime, focusing on safety. Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair/rebuilding/replacing equipment. The role involves carrying out maintenance on processing equipment, detecting malfunctions, fabricating parts, and interpreting blueprints. This position requires adapting to indoor/outdoor conditions, handling chemicals, and substantial physical effort, including lifting up to 30kg, with both day and night shifts.
Must have:
  • Minimize downtime and execute preventative maintenance program
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on processing equipment
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts
  • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance and/or set-up
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints
  • Open/close facility, start up/shutdown equipment as required
  • Effectively communicate with management regarding maintenance
  • Promote and comply with Health and Safety regulations
  • Work with management to identify areas of improvement and prioritize maintenance
  • Maintain general housekeeping of maintenance department and facility

  • Experience with screw, belt, roller conveyors
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, gear reducers
  • Experience with mixers, machinery rebuilding/replacing and troubleshooting

Our goals - Your path

Reporting to Maintenance Supervisor, the Millwright will focus on maintaining equipment and limiting downtime. With a focus on safety, the Millwright will maintain the facility’s systems and equipment by providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair/rebuilding/replacing of equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As part of the maintenance team, focus on minimizing downtime and the execution of a preventative maintenance program, equipment troubleshooting and hands-on corrective actions
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on processing equipment, maximizing equipment uptime, and general maintenance repairs
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts through a PM or unscheduled maintenance
  • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance and/or set-up
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints.
  • Opening/closing of the facility, and start up/shutdown of equipment as required.
  • Effective communication with management with respect to maintenance
  • Promote and comply with Health and Safety regulations
  • Working with management to identify areas of improvement, as well as prioritizing maintenance activities
  • General housekeeping of maintenance dept and all areas within the facility
  • Additional duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS/ PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Environment: Work performed both indoors and outdoors – adaptation required to fluctuations in temperature and weather conditions
  • Dusty and dirty environment
  • Uniform provided
  • Hearing protection required due to loud environment
  • Handling of various chemicals (i.e. cementitious materials), proper respirator fit and wear required
  • Substantial repetitive physical effort required – ability to lift up to 30kg
  • Safely working with or around moving machinery/equipment
  • Both day and night shifts required
  • Overtime may be required

Your expertise - Our strength

  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Hands-on mechanical experience
  • Experience with screw, belt, roller conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, gear reducers, mixers, machinery rebuilding/replacing and troubleshooting is an asset
  • Shift Rotation, weekend voluntary overtime shifts, off-shift call-ins may be required
  • Must have completed three-year Millwright/Mechanic apprenticeship program
  • Must have Certificate of Qualification License 433A
