Job Description

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Regional Company (RC) plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity and stability of the Regional Company. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that all financial operations and controls are in strict accordance with the policies and instructions set forth by the Group. The CFO will be responsible for financial control of the Regional external Partners activities and legal entities within the scope of the RC and its subsidiaries. The role also includes managing the ERP system, ensuring bank relationships, and providing timely budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to the DGDI and Thales corporate. This position involves membership in the RC CODIR and a double reporting line.

JOB OBJECTIVE 

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Regional Company (RC) plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity and stability of the Regional Company.

This individual will be responsible for ensuring that all financial operations and controls are in strict accordance with the policies and instructions set forth by the Group. By doing so, the CFO helps to safeguard the Group’s assets and promotes sustainable financial growth.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES         

Financial control of the Regional external Partners activities

  • Ensure compliance of the Regional Company  financial operations and processes towards external Partners with Group policies and instructions
  • Perform accordingly (and participate to) these partners qualification (financial due diligence, risk factors identification,..), the contracts validation and their related financial management (payments, accruals, provisions, invoicing etc)
  • Monitor and manage all the Company financial processes and operations in line with the Thales principles
  • Follow and manage the Group financial commitments on fixed fees & variable fees within the RC’s scope (including off-balance sheet commitments)
  • Supports the Regional Company position towards the Internal & External Auditors

Financial control of legal entities in the scope of the RC & its subsidiaries (representation offices) :

  • Ensure basic financial responsibilities for the THINT entities (bookkeeping, accounts closing, statutory & consolidated accounts, treasury, relations with auditors, tax filing etc..)
  • Contribute to the optimization of the relating legal entities structure & support whenever necessary the Group Operations in setting up the appropriate local structures or hosting entities
  • Control the affiliated companies/branches in all domains under his/her control (financing, cash pooling, auditing, tax matters) at all steps: creation, life and termination
  • Ensure Budget control for all entities and cost centers (MYB, Re-forecast, follow-up)
  • Ensure effectiveness and adequacy of the Internal control management
  • Perform the financial control of hosted resources
  • Manage the ERP (ESPMS, BAMS, SAP BD) in coordination with the 2 other Regional Companies
  • Ensure bank relationship
  • Provide accurate and timely budgeting, forecasting and reporting (MYB, BOR, Magnitude etc.) to DGDI & Thales corporate (BOR)

Job Position within the Organisation & Finance Team Management

  • Member of RC CODIR
  • Double reporting line with the Finance Director, ANE, UAE/Iraq, KSA & CA and the Regional Company COO
  • People Management: 6-7 employees

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS      

Extensive experience in Finance (accounting, controlling, financing, tax, Financial Statement etc..) & basic Legal, Thales Processes.

QUALIFICATION, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS         

Master’s/Bachelor’s in Finance Management or similar

HSE RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Ensure both your own safety and the safety of others at all times.

  • Comply with local HSE laws and legislation.
  • To use safety equipment (including PPE) as required and intended.
  • Lead by example and actively encourage departments to look at ways to conserve water & energy, minimise the generation of waste, and encourage recycling.
