Job Summary
ISG is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure, hybrid infrastructure, and foundational DevOps capabilities. The role primarily focuses on Azure operations, cloud infrastructure, and hybrid infrastructure support, with DevOps experience as a valuable secondary skillset. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and a structured approach to project delivery, aiming to improve reliability and performance across platforms.
Must Have
- Deploy, operate, and maintain Azure services (App Service, VMs, Storage, Key Vault, SQL/SQL Managed Instance, identity components)
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues end-to-end
- Support hybrid cloud environments and optimize reliability
- Implement monitoring, alerting, governance, and operational best practices
- Develop, maintain, or support CI/CD pipelines
- Support deployment workflows across technology stacks (.NET, Node/Angular, Python)
- Troubleshoot and resolve build and release issues
- Strong hands-on experience operating Microsoft Azure services
- Practical knowledge of DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment troubleshooting
- Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, YAML)
- Demonstrable understanding and diagnostic approach to technical troubleshooting and problem solving
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills
Good to Have
- Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 administration
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals, Meraki equipment, and hybrid network troubleshooting
- Experience of IDaaS (Okta experience useful)
- SQL Experience (Queries, Performance, Connectivity, Backup)
- Email flow troubleshooting (Mimecast, Exch Online, SendGrid)
- Experience of IT Security fundamentals, in particular cyber security tools (such as Phishing Protection, URL scanning, Impersonation Protection, MFA)
- Understanding of containers and modern deployment patterns
- Linux support
- Experience with regulatory frameworks such as SOC2 or ISO
- Exposure in supporting 200+ users, across different time zones
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Understanding of Azure governance and security best practices
- Familiarity with Service Desk Ticketing systems (Service Now)
- Experience working with managed hosting providers/CSPs/ISPs

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving ability, and a structured approach to project delivery, with a desire to continuously improve reliability and performance across platforms.
You do not need to be a full DevOps specialist, but you must be comfortable with the fundamentals and eager to deepen your expertise. This role provides hands-on exposure and mentoring to grow those skills into a more rounded DevOps capability
Job Description:
Azure Infrastructure (Primary Focus)
- Deploy, operate, and maintain Azure services to host and support corporate business platforms. Including App Service, VMs, Storage, Key Vault, SQL/SQL Managed Instance, and identity components.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues end-to-end, including performance issues.
- Support hybrid cloud environments and contribute to ongoing optimization and reliability improvements.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, governance, and operational best practices.
DevOps Engineering
- Develop, maintain, or support CI/CD pipelines.
- Support deployment workflows across technology stacks (e.g., .NET, Node/Angular, Python).
- Troubleshoot and resolve build and release issues.
Infrastructure and Networking
- Provide on-prem networking support when required (Meraki experience useful).
- Support office and hybrid connectivity, including troubleshooting ISP and network performance issues.
- Assist with Azure networking components such as VNets, VPN gateways, peering, and routing.
Collaboration and Documentation
- Work closely with development, support, and architecture teams.
- Produce high-quality system documentation, runbooks, diagrams, and architecture visuals.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience operating Microsoft Azure services.
- Practical knowledge of DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment troubleshooting.

- Extensive commercial experience, majority focused on Infrastructure support.
- Technical certification, such as Microsoft or Cisco.
