Job Description

Netflix is seeking a creative Consumer Products Designer for the APAC region, based in Seoul. This role involves visualizing potential, unlocking new opportunities, and managing product developments. The successful candidate will have strong design skills, insights into industry trends, and excellent communication abilities to work with internal and external partners. They will report to the Product Development and Creative Sr. Manager of APAC.
Must Have:
  • Creatively lead and inspire consumer products partners.
  • Review and assist with new product and packaging design.
  • Recognize incorrect use of Netflix IP and ensure legal attribution.
  • In-depth knowledge of active title style guides and art assets.
  • Convey creative direction to resolve concept design issues.
  • Manage time to uphold contractual deadlines for approvals.
  • Produce creative mood boards and set creative vision.
  • Develop creative to support CP style guides & asset kits.
  • Design presentation materials for new creative business pitches.
  • Create multiple design solutions for a given brief.
  • Assist Design Manager in vetting and onboarding third-party creative vendors.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership through self-managing projects.
  • Communicate with and solicit feedback from internal stakeholders.
  • Prioritize workflow effectively.
  • 8+ years of design experience in consumer products or entertainment.
  • Exceptional creative problem-solving and follow-through skills.
  • Keen eye for trends & innovative design.
  • Stay abreast of current design technologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in Korean and English.
  • Ability to manage stress and adversity.
  • Excellent multitasking skills.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Google Workspace.

This position is based in our Seoul office and the role will report to the Product Development and Creative Sr. Manager of APAC.

Position Summary:

Works in conjunction with the Regional Creative Lead to manage product developments and to produce style guides and asset kits to support the Netflix Consumer Products business in the APAC region. The ideal candidate has strong communication, design, illustration, and layout skills, along with experience within entertainment, consumer products, licensing or related industries.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Creatively leads and inspires our consumer products partners - both internal cross functional teams and external licensees & retailers
  • Reviews and assists with new product and packaging design from licensees & other business partners
  • An eye for detail and discernment; able to recognize incorrect use of Netflix IP on concepts as per the style guide guidelines, required legal attribution on branding and packaging solutions
  • In-depth knowledge and familiarity with all active title style guides and art assets being used for product development concepts
  • Ability to convey creative direction when needed to resolve a concept design issue
  • Time management skills in order to uphold contractual deadlines for approvals at all stages of development
  • Ability to produce creative mood boards and set creative vision based on Merchandise strategy per title
  • Develop creative to support CP style guides & asset kits
  • Design presentation materials for new creative business pitches
  • Creates multiple design solutions for a given brief; provides a design point of view and communicates it to key stakeholders
  • Assists the Design Manager in vetting and onboarding third-party creative vendors
  • Demonstrates strong leadership through self-managing projects and keeping the team informed
  • Communicates with and solicits feedback from internal stakeholders regularly
  • Prioritizes workflow effectively

Skills Required

  • Demonstrated 8+ years of design experience in the consumer products or the entertainment industry with global business scale
  • Has exceptional “creative problem-solving” and follow-through skills with the ability to think on your feet - exercise storytelling and joy through creative development
  • Must have a keen eye for trends & innovative design
  • Stays abreast of current design technologies, including software, hardware, and processes
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Presentation skills to communicate with internal and external partners
  • Must be fluent in Korean and English
  • Ability to manage stress and adversity in a positive, constructive manner during crisis situations and tight deadlines
  • Excellent multitasking skills with the ability to manage several projects at any one time
  • Regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness are required
  • Advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and the Google Workspace
